thanks for the comment...the blurring was edited in, just playing around with some effects. I appreciate the input

I agree with Beamer. I looked at this photo a few days back, didn't know what to think of it and I wanted to know the same thing as Beamer: how did you get the blur? Playing around is fine, don't drop it. To me, Vazaar is giant play ground. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Maybe you can make the blur smaller, centered, only on the edges and less striking.

This is the place to play around and see what works. Maybe try a glamor filter instead of the blurring to just soften the whole photo. I like the shot, did you save the original? I'd like to see that without the blur...

i love the composition of this picture!
but like others have said..the blur is a little too obvious
i think with a less amount of blur and more detail it could be an amazing shot!

My "problem" with the shot as posted is that the underlying image is so strong I am wondering what the blurring etc adds to the overall composition. I look and think that it is a bit of a shame to lose the detail of the flowers in the grass and the lichen/moss on the fence. I agree that the effect you are developing can be very powerful and hope that you will keep exploring this approach, but maybe toned down a touch in this case.

I like the scene and it looks like you have a nice capture here. The processing/blurring seems a bit obvious to me. If an effect calls too much attention to itself, for me, it doesn't work. Instead of adding to the mood or story, it detracts because you are looking at the effect and not seeing the mood or story. I think this is what is happening here. I opened this image and my mind starts wondering why the blur, how did you do the blur, is it in-camera or PS, etc. So at that point I am not enjoying your nice scene...
