Great shot - I would have cropped it even tighter to emphasize the natural V of the tree.

I assume this is a zoo shot, if not please correct me. It really doesn't matter I just like to know when I am critiquing a shot in this Topic. So for my initial comments, I will assume that it is:
The highlights are quite blown out in the sky. That bright area really draws my eye away from the cat's face. The cat seems to be stationary, so a couple of stops more closed might have allowed you to control the exposure better without widening the DoF too much?
I am not a fan of the strong border, but, I am also not a fan of this site's white background. So, I won't fault you for the border. I agree with Jon about the framing/cropping. A bit tighter an you could loose that ugly knuckle in the lower left. This would probably work great as a square crop with the face off center to include the whole body side.
You controlled the focus and DoF nicely here, IMO.
