I love the textured, graphic quality of this photo. The limited palette produced by the processing puts the final touch to the vintage effect.

Interesting colour and pattern emphasized by the narrow DoF.

The exhibition is set to present nearly 60 photos by pro, amature & photographers all over Iran. It is sponsored by Hitachi, so it wouldn't cost you at all, it will be run by www.moosville.com & www.parkingallery.com

Bathed in delicious warm colours, the play on shapes is enhanced by the sense of depth created by the shallow DoF.

Thanks so much Teng.

A subtle evocation of a bygone urban era.

Very comforting image to me. Like it!

Love the sky and main building. Would love to see a bit of the lower left corner cloned out, or cropped out.

Fun picture! Nice and sharp!

Nice freeze! I can't tell from your EXIF, but you maybe could have gotten around not liking the background by trying to have a shorter depth of field? Having the background a little more out of focus would place more emphasis on the car.
Great shot as it is though.

Neat shot, nice clearity and colour. I find the wires on the groud a little distracting.

Great question Teng. I could take a slightly different angle but a significantly different angle would have shown a fence and not very pretty things;) I agree more could have been done to this photo though.

Topher (Christopher Mueller) said 1 year ago:

it comes down to personal preference; things that would make it more interesting for me: Off center somehow (such as a different angle like suggested) and if the flower was a little darker, it'd be great to see a little more of the details. Just seems a tad too bright. Vibrant and great for the topic tho!

mosesport (Moses) said 1 year ago:

Very vivid! I love the way the flower stands out. Keep up the great work! I agree about the angle.

.moses.

Congrats on the feature Jason :)

Interesting shot. The flower almost seems to be floating in midair.

I bet the guy with the black pieces won.

tengtan (Teng Tan) said 1 year ago:

@Paul
Thanks Paul. I spent quite a few minutes moving around. The wideangle zoom was quite handy.

@Brandon
You seem to know your chess, Brandon. When I left, black was the exchange up (white's rook for his knight)and should win in that open position. I might even try my luck next time - organiser (white) says he plays in the daytime as well in the same place. :)

Very interesting.
I like the pattern on the left middle pain.
Adds a lot more interest to this well executed simple shot.

tengtan (Teng Tan) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Mike. Came across this rather rundown backlane shop/warehouse in my local shopping centre and was trying to portray its old-world and rather improvisatory environs.
