I like your photo, but the sky looks very unreal and unnatural to me. Did you photoshop that? It looks like it is.

However the topic is 'soltitude' and for that reason it's nice to have some distance to the main topic (the cabin) but I think I would prefer a shot which is more zoomed in.

I love outhouse pics...I might have cropped out the area to the right of the outhouse. Great find

The sky is natural. I don't use photoshop. Thanks for the feedback.

I really like the colours and effect that you have achieved with this shot. Hampshire might be right, in a topic of "solitude" you might be able to push the outhouse (it could be a "dunny" here in Australia) closer to the edge of the frame, but this is minor. Well done.

Well done. Amazing sky and good composition. Thanks for sharing and fits the topic very well.

Good idea, but the execution is not quite there. So - it's still interesting!

Best,
Jon

I love the idea but in my opinion, the composition is a bit off. I think a bit of straightening, and slight shift to the right would've worked much better. I actually like the inclusion of the child though. I think it adds some quirky interest.

I like the light and the idea. I wish the little person was more central.

The next time I get back to this place, I'm going to rework the shot. Thank you all for the tips. So, I think move the shot to the right to show more of the width of the stairs, try to increase the height, and get my daughter to cooperate and be slightly more centered (that'll be a challenge for a 2 and a half year old). Thanks for the ideas, all.

i like the idea it fits perfectly to the topics.
perhaps the little girl would have been much interesting in another place of the shot (ex : down the stairs)

I've seen this image pop up a couple of times while I was rating. I really like it. The action and the joy on the face of the child really make this shot stand out from the crowd for me. Bravo.

If I can allow myself, some remarks concerning your photograph. Your framing appears perfectible, indeed, one often applies the rule of the thirds in order to put to a strong point an essential component of the portrait, the eyes. Here your model is centered too much. Often, one recommends to photograph a child since his height (at the same time the topic is Low Down, and the rules are made to be broken…) You knew to use the flash in a discrete way, cheer. Your B&W is soft, and I find that it is appropriate for the portrait. I wish you a good continuation, and do not hesitate to make many portrait in order to continue in this way. Greetings.
