I love outhouse pics...I might have cropped out the area to the right of the outhouse. Great find

The sky is natural. I don't use photoshop. Thanks for the feedback.

I really like the colours and effect that you have achieved with this shot. Hampshire might be right, in a topic of "solitude" you might be able to push the outhouse (it could be a "dunny" here in Australia) closer to the edge of the frame, but this is minor. Well done.

Well done. Amazing sky and good composition. Thanks for sharing and fits the topic very well.
Cheers,

Not really exciting or imaginative. Even in this Topic I think you need something compelling to be a strong entry.

The foreground is more distractive than anything else... The reflect is great, there is something to exploit there.
susiej (Susie Janowski) added a critique 23 days ago:
I agree that the reeds in front are distracting. I do like the lines created by the bird and it's reflection, though.

I think that a closer crop would have helped this shot.

aside from compositional issues the photo is too dark and does not have enough detail/clarity

Am I looking at a reflection or through a glass bowl? I can't tell!

Through a glass bowl.

I see it now! Very clever idea!

It's a clever idea, indeed! Add this one to the topic 'Funny' and you have a winner!

Nice shot. I like the blur, but would like a little less blur in the background.

Very dynamic, and abstract! But I don't have a clue about what I see here, and that's what I don't like ;)

The colour and simplicity of the composition work very, very well with this image, as do the small areas of sharp focus and other places out of focus. I don't need to know what it is (although I am curious) to enjoy.

I shot this a few days ago outside my front door. These are the “threads” of a Washingtonia filifera (filifera - Latin “thread-bearing”, also known as California Fan Palm). I shot this with my Nikon D7s and a Nikon 60mm Micro f2.8. This reminds me of the LA freeway interchanges or maybe a free map.

Interesting and yes, dynamic is a good word to use. Nice dof.

I like this, too. I don't mind that I can't figure out what it is. Looks like a MAC desktop picture....

Where's his hard hat, safety glasses and steeled-toe shoes? - Sorry I work in construction... I really like how his posture and expression show deep thought.

I like your photo, but the sky looks very unreal and unnatural to me. Did you photoshop that? It looks like it is.
However the topic is 'soltitude' and for that reason it's nice to have some distance to the main topic (the cabin) but I think I would prefer a shot which is more zoomed in.
