The repetition is in the fibonacci number sequence found in the pine cone. The number of scales on the cone are repetitious.
Thanks for the comment.

Your idea about repetition is pretty good. But the image does not show that at all.
When looking at the picture I see a blurred hand holding a little pine cone with a green background. No clear indication of repetition. The cone (= your main subject) is only filling a few percent of the image.
A real close up of the pine cone was perhaps much better.

Not something I think I would like to come across, but it's very cool looking.

Great clarity and vivid colors. I like how the shadow reveals details not seen directly from the camera's perspective. Nicely done!

Beautiful. Love the details esp the hair and the mood of the photo.
Great capture :)
boyd added a critique 8 months ago:
Man, this looks like someone having fun, and what about that hair! Colours are very pleasing here, as is the interesting reflection in the subject's helmet. Well done all round.

Great smile, the red and the pink bring out that great smile on this young lady :)

A nice scene but doesn't really hold a lot of impact/interest. The orange element is not that strong.
blossompp3 added a critique 8 months ago:
I like the subtle colors here. The reflection of the sunset along the shoreline adds interest to the photo.
Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 8 months ago:
The color is a bit too subtle to be in the 'orange' topic. Its a nice pic, could be a little bit more sharper and the horizon needs a little bit of straightening.
remirol (Andy Lorimer) added a critique 8 months ago:
Great shot , very natural with the reflection of the sun on the water @ sand!! Keep the shutter clicken !!!

Shannon,
This has a lot going for it - don't be put off by the crits - they are, for the most part, well intentioned, you know! I like the foreground and the reflection on the edge of the beach - well done!
Best,
jon

Thanks so much for the comments. I did play around with straightening the horizon at first but kept coming back to the angled version. I liked the various vertical lines throughout the photo. Thanks for the suggestions.
smucha (shannon mucha) said 8 months ago:
... meant diagonal, not vertical...
boyd added a critique 8 months ago:
I also think that the horizon is distracting. Given where it is in the frame and you tried straightening it, did you try getting rid of it altogether? Doing this on screen seems to allow my eye to immediately focus only on the boy (?) and that fabulous shadow.
smucha (shannon mucha) said 8 months ago:
I just used the scroll bar cropper & agree, it's much better getting rid if the horizon. Thanks so much.
remirol (Andy Lorimer) added a critique 8 months ago:
Yes great shot would have to agree with cropping of the horizon!! Keep the shutter clicken !!

It took me a while to figure what I am looking at. Lighting is too harsh in my opinion, especially on the out of focus caterpillars. A tighter crop to remove the bottom part would probably help a bit.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:
You have a good start in regards to the conception, but Alexandre, is right, of course, as regards the lighting and the crop.
smucha (shannon mucha) said 9 months ago:
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll play around with it a bit more.

in my opinion it's disgusting but the shot is nice
No entiendo por qué está en este tema. En la propia naturaleza del objeto que está en la mano existe una repetición pero con ese tamaño y todo lo que aparece a su alrededor no me encaja en ese grupo de fotos.
