No entiendo por qué está en este tema. En la propia naturaleza del objeto que está en la mano existe una repetición pero con ese tamaño y todo lo que aparece a su alrededor no me encaja en ese grupo de fotos.
Saludos
smucha (shannon mucha) said 6 months ago:
The repetition is in the fibonacci number sequence found in the pine cone. The number of scales on the cone are repetitious.
Thanks for the comment.
lightningPaul (Paul) added a critique 1 month ago:
Your idea about repetition is pretty good. But the image does not show that at all.
When looking at the picture I see a blurred hand holding a little pine cone with a green background. No clear indication of repetition. The cone (= your main subject) is only filling a few percent of the image.
A real close up of the pine cone was perhaps much better.

Too busy for this category. Highlights are a distraction as well. Great expression on the subject, but too many other problems to redeem this shot.

I think this is a wonderful portrait, though I'd crop it just at the top of his head (so that person above him isn't showing) and then on the right to remove a bit of his back (I like the cars).
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 6 months ago:
Good expression on his face. I'd crop top, right and left to leave only the subject and the guy with the board. Minor thing: odd white line in his eye. It wouldn't be a problem for me except for the fact that it is his eye, which is important in portraits.
Drkev (Cristian Vladoaica) added a critique 6 months ago:
love the contrast of the image. It makes it pop out!
nice one!

hmmm... I like it except for the tire growing out of his eye. If there was a cleaner background, it would be a keeper

Love the tone and mood of this photo. The play of light and shadow is beautiful.

Nice shot, The light is coming through perfectly to show the empty space.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 6 months ago:
You've used the light well in this image, giving this space a welcome feel to it.

This shot confused me at first as to what i was looking at, but then I got it and was amazed at the color.

interesting composition, but for me another angle would be cooler. more play with lines and it would be perfect!

As others have said, good lightning and colors. I'm not sure about the composition. It's cool to have the man in the center, but he is looking left with his eyes, which want me to have more space on the left. But I am not sure.
Great photo anyway!
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:
I like this for street - this is a grab, right? With a little more work on the highlights and comp. this is a great portrait.
Best,
Jon

really like that one!
two (small) thing: the subject is a bit centered, and the contrats is very strong, maybe too much for me.

Nice lighting and good story - but the composition could be a lot better imo. If you crop it a bit on the right and in the bottom you get a much more appealing composition. The center of attention will be where "the rule of thirds" says it should be (and yes, I know rules a meant to be broken - but in this case I would stick to the rule)

Replace your watermark with some Japanese letter/characters and you would have a very nice graphic arts piece. In the thumbnail, that's what I thought it was.

Nice composition with good texture and color.

I agree with Beamer. Beautiful piece of art.

Terrific work. The colors and form go so well together; and it has that Asian flair which I love so much. Simple but beautiful. If I were creating this image for print, I would lose the border and, of course, your watermark/name. Otherwise the image is perfect. Nice job!

I would like to see some more room to the left of his hand. The highlights are blown out.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:
The crop is tighter than necessary, I think. The photo is a little static and nothing really grabs me in this shot. Interesting subject - should say more, but does not - at least to me.
Best,
Jon

Great expression you've captured. Really nice colors throughout the photo as well.

good opportunity but the crop should be larger or closer. Personally I believe a closer one would be preferable

Very interesting story and awesome lighting!
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:
Tomer,
You have given yourself a difficult lighting assignment with this one! Good grief! The subject matter is great, I think, but more suitable for black and white treatment in my opinion. This shot also transcends the "Old" category and would be good in "Street" as well. You have available to you here a wide range of tones to play with for a strong black and white shot - I think it's worth a try! Nice capture.
Best to you,
Jon

I echo all of the above comments. Amazing texture and composition.
CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 6 months ago:
I really like the composition and the expression as well as the details.
I would have added a little bit of contrast and of sharpenese to get a little more depth to the picture though.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:
Some good things here to be sure - the nose, however,is too dominant and takes away from the eyes - and these are some great eyes!
Best,
