"To much abstract" for the Topic "Abstract"...? Oh, well... sorry I failed the Topic.
silenzioso (alberto) added a critique 1 year ago:
what is this? I love it, very abstract, but full of sensations..

You haven't posted in a while my friend... Where are all your lovely shots?
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:
I work at NBC in Burbank, CA. This is our busiest time of the year, getting ready for Premiere week, next week. I have been working 12 - 16 hours a day for last couple of weeks, will catch up soon...

This is great. I only wish there was a little more contrast on the leaves so the water drops would stand out a little more. I also think the plant in the upper left of the photo is distracting from the otherwise perfect composition.
Nice work!

good light and geometry. I think the out of focus on top right is a prblem, but not so great problem! ;)

Simply brilliant! I can't find anything to criticize in here.
Was this real mist or just water with a really, really slow speed? It's not the first time I see this kind of shot and I've always wondered...
zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) said 1 year ago:
nattfodd, the ten stop filter reduces the shutter speed by a factor of 1000 (1024 to be precise). If I remember right this exposure was around 65 seconds in afternoon light - the normal exposure would have been about 1/15 - 1/20 second. Any water slapping up the beach takes on a very misty look.
nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) added a critique 1 year ago:
@zenith9: that's great, I've hit this problem many times and usually just have resolved to wait sunset...
Thanks a lot for this tip, I will try to get one of those filters!

Doesn't look like water though, does it...? It looks...like mist. So there's your criticism. Extremely atmospheric it is, and a super image, water however, it is not. Always had a little problem with this representation of water, I'm afraid. Just voicing my opinion, you can't have it all your own way...lol!

I love it! I'd have it printed and hang it on a wall! Truely a great image...

Is that water over those rocks?
silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
it's ice...
mysight (Carl H. Sr.) said 1 year ago:
I've never seen anything like that!
Frozen waves.
TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 1 year ago:
Brrrr! I love the patterns that ice makes as the water recedes and creates those air pockets.

What is this a texture of? Congratulations on your feature.
silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
it is a piece of gold mosaic before the cut in small square pieces... macro, naturally!
Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:
Wonderful macro Alberto - I would have never guessed mosaic either. I also add my congrats on your feature. The warm golds and yellows make this photo "pop" and I think this is a wonderful capture!

Seriously....this is a pet?
silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
I've my home invaded, 365 days for year, by hundred of these nice animals... and so I consider them my pets! (but this photo is a joke, seriously... the next one will be Maya, my dog!)
Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) said 1 year ago:
Ha! I can totally see that. But then again, I talk to spiders and ants who invade my house and try to convince them to "take it outside" before I have to commit murder. :D
This is wonderfully shot. Great clarity on the lady and nice DOF. BTW, they have many more spots where we live.

This is gorgeous. Is this Notre Dame? The tones and angle are splendid.
silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
@byutanner: I've sent to you mail the tiff with postprocessing of this..
@tomkaz: thanks!
@beckn32: yes, it's NotreDame, from the area of the NotreDame statue, if know this church...
beckn32 (Kim Norton) said 1 year ago:
Yes, I know this beautiful cathedral. I have a picture of this same window, but definitely not as good as yours.

This fabulous image could have been taken anywhere....ok it probably comes from a church, but just as easily from a museum, or a public building. Beautiful tones, and textures, and very emotive.
beckn32 (Kim Norton) said 1 year ago:
This is so gorgeous and gives out a lot of emotion. The tones are fantastic.
silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
@psychodudu: you're right, I know I've took this image in a church, but it could not be clear to everybody. but I have thought that a statue of the Madonna was suitable to the topic “churches”..
@beckn32: thankyou!

That's excellent. It'd also work in light and shadows I think. I like the simplicity and the circle the moon illuminates. Very nice.
odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:
Indeed, very nice image. It's also works like light and shadows, really. I think that's just a bit focused in the moon, leaving empty dark areas. Anyway, this gives the contrast required for the image on the center.

Very nice though the background is a little too visually disturbing.
And the blurred leathes on the left are unforgivable :(

silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:
great picture, but I would cut off all the left half!
tulna (Tulna Chauhan) said 1 year ago:
I like the shot but agree about the busy background.
To much abstract for my tastem without colour. A soft picture.
