Ha ha! Yes! It's a HUGE lobster, isn't it?

Now there is something you definetly don't see every day, at least not around here.
Thanks for sharing. Very interesting.

Raza, Thank you for your help! I really appreciate this comment.
:-) It's hard to get a shot in China without a gazillion people in it! But I will keep trying for that.

I agree with Sher and Raza. I think another option you may have is to crop the photo tightly above his head (to get rid of the walkway) and immediately to the left of his broom hand (to get rid of most of the other man). Then use photoshop or elements to clone out the foot of the man to the left (as that would still be in the plane of the image after cropping). I agree that your main subject has an interesting pose and the broom is interesting too. The orange vest works for me too.

aloha_photo, thanks so much for this very CONSTRUCTIVE criticism! I'm off to play with this photo....
chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:
this is a photo for "selective saturation" topic, you only have to leave with color the orange wearing.

As far as lightening his face, there is a wonderly powerful and totally free program (if your using windows) on the internet called Infranview. In it, you can adjust the gamma level and it brings out great detail in a photo such as yours. I have used it to lighten pictures I figured were way too dark. It works great, at least for me.

Wow.
Well spotted and well composed.
Excellent shot with some awesome coloring and details.
I agree about the fire extinguisher though.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
Oh wow I would have probably missed the fire extinguisher had it not been pointed out.
Otherwise the composition works well for the theme.
Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:
I'm with Laurie...wouldn't have noticed the extinguisher really without Andrew's eagle eyes. Great colors, nice find!
shiningpig said 1 year ago:
Thanks for your comments. I've got to work on my eagle eye.

I love the subject and it invites me to want to reach in and pick up the pieces, however the frame of the case is bothering me.
Could you have croped it more evenley?
shiningpig said 1 year ago:
GinaMoe,
Yes, the cropping is off, isn't it? Actually the picture was like this when I took it. I do have other versions of this subject which include the entire case -- including two other small sections with watch bands. Maybe I should've used that one. But it had some distracting object to the top of the case. It's hard for me to choose what's worse -- cutting off the side of the case or including a distracting image. :-)
Thank you for pointing that out. I will work on it next time. AND thanks for the positives too!
Onno (Onno Bruins) added a critique 1 year ago:
Lovely shot, but the cutoff of the frame seems a bit random, I'd love to see this shot with the entire case, that old wood can really add atmosphere to an image

Neat! And the fruit provides such a nice contrasting background.

Thanks! Oohhh.. this is my very first comment on Vazaar. I'm so excited! :-)
I guess we know where Godzilla eats when he's in town. Nice capture, good framing.
