The foreground is more distractive than anything else... The reflect is great, there is something to exploit there.

I agree that the reeds in front are distracting. I do like the lines created by the bird and it's reflection, though.

aside from compositional issues the photo is too dark and does not have enough detail/clarity

Not really exciting or imaginative. Even in this Topic I think you need something compelling to be a strong entry.
