What a great shot! I can hear the crunch of the snow that the poles and shoes are making along with the breaths that are being taken in and being expelled.
A very moving story with this shot.

Oh my gosh...you were actually there to take this photo?? Outstanding perspective, excellent detail and wonderful color. Wow!

I think this is a great photo, I have a hard time with long exposure.

Very nice. I really like the composition of your circle here and the negative space to the left of it. I especially like the little sparkles escaping out into the nothingness. Very nice.

I find this a difficult image to critique because it is so well done. There is not much that can be said in the way of how you could have improved it. About all I can think of would be if it were slightly wider so more of the sparks were included in the frame (but I'm really stretching it here!). What amazes me is that the sparkler twirler made such a perfect oval!

First impression is that this is a spinning wheel of fireworks.
After really looking i realized it was a sparkler on a long shutter.
Very well done and I also like the left area being blank!

Although I normally don't like seeing repeats I loved this shot when it was in weeklyshots and I find it an incredibly powerful image.
rrivas (Robert Rivas) said 1 year ago:
Thanks! I had considered not using it since it was already on Weeklyshots, but i like it as well and thought it fit the topic.

Great one philippe! I love it!!

Thank you guys for the comments. I had made this one for the "shallow DOF" theme but I didn't post it and I thought it would fit in this theme too...

The Tilt Shift style is always so interesting

I love the technique as it makes me want to look at every part of the image much more closely. It's hard to tell where the exact point of focus is though without having the full res shot. But I do love it - reminds me of that train set I had all those years ago....

Thanks guys!
The irony is this was taken on top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire (USA), the train travels up and down the mountain everyday....its quite an interesting locale!
Ahhhh...a dream of mine!!! Love it!
