I really like this. I think the only thing I would do differently is turn slightly more to your left so the bricks in the road are parallel with the bottom of the picture. But I'm just weird that way. :-)

visualthoughts added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice! Don't know what else to say except it's striking.

Agresticguy added a critique 1 year ago:

Perfect! Don't change a thing. Composition, lighting, exposure, atmosphere, everything is just perfect.

That is a really neat shot. However, I have to agree with rblue85 - it would be better if the plant was in focus.

Perfectly Composed

Eye catching subject. Definitely pops out.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great catch Paul. Very thought provoking. Nice work!

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this picture, great subject, but just a couple things. It looks like the picture is just a tad too sharp, not sure but it might look a little better if it was softened just a little bit. Also I would have put the same amount of gap between the left statue and the frame as you have on the right, but maybe that's just a personal quirk. Hope this helps. :-)

mosesport (Moses) added a critique 1 year ago:

This picture is really cool. It's cool how there's almost emotion in these inanimate objects. Great shot!

ronjones (Ron Jones) added a critique 1 year ago:

Thanks, Paul, for the invite.

Great colors in the clouds! Wish i could see this as a panoramic just to see what it would look like, with the clouds and sunset going off to the right.

kamaki (Christophe) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for your criticisms

bbonner (Bonner Photographic) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think the cropping is done very well. The smoke pulls the eye was I think you intended.

mosesport (Moses) added a critique 1 year ago:

I absolutely love the color in this picture. You captured this perfectly. :)

ronjones (Ron Jones) added a critique 1 year ago:

Indeed, it is beautiful. The colors, the lines, the composition work extremely well.

i think its fine as it is, i like the fact that its almost as if the color of the sky blended itself with the color of the water on purpose, giving it the purple-ish look
definitely about the colors :-)

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wow, I love this! Such brilliant color in the sunset!

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice capture and colors: flowers and rainbow ! maybe if the rainbow should have been more high, it'd be perfect!

caryscott (Cary Scott) added a critique 1 year ago:

Photos of flowers have been so overdone that, as a rule, I usually don't even click on them any more. However, the nice contrasting colors and tones in this shot made me break my rule. Nice capture.

rblue85 (Tiffany) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Great shot Eric. Wonderful vivid colors, great angle. Where and what is this building?

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Sher,it's an Orthodox Church in San Remo (Italy)

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think it is better here (wasn't it in symmetry before). But great shot again. There is something unique about your PP I just can't quite put my finger on...

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Jason, for the PP it's a fake HDR ;-)

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

Love the contrast colors in this shot, the only thing I would change is the building is a bit tilted.

I thought the texture was pretty good.

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

Perfect for the theme. I think the image should be brighter. Seems very dark.

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

Love it! Good work! Great texture, though it wouldn't hurt if it was a little more pronounced.

boughey (Adrian Boughey) added a critique 1 year ago:

As already mentioned there's not enough texture to hold my eye. It fits the topic, but I'm not sure it's an image I would revisit. Sorry. Have you tried this as a b&w? You should get some very high contrasts and be able to bring the texture out more with a little dodging and burning.

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:

excellent work! compliments!
(for me a little bit more texture wouldn`t be bad, but perhaps only for me)

schupin (Sylvain chupin) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the expression of the girl, but it's too dark. The problem is not really the darkness of the picture but the lack of light. If a part of the face have been lighter it should have done a really good picture.

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wow, I love this! The expression is great and I really love the soft lighting, although it probably wouldn't hurt if there was a little more light on the face.

visualthoughts added a critique 1 year ago:

I just happen to be one of those who like this type of 'darker' picture. I get the same comments oftentimes with portraits - like the three above - but the mood the darker lighting sets is appealing to me. Not to say a little more light on the face would be bad - it's just a preference. I like the crop.

msdedi (Linda) added a critique 1 year ago:

this has beautiful, subtle lighting and in some sense, a feeling similar to a Vermeer painting... really lovely

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

well done. I like the lighting.

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

I probably would have colored the man sleeping on his knees, because it's first instinct to pick him. But I like how you did it too. Makes my eyes scan down the picture and the rest of the people just seem to slowly blend into the picture. Especially the man in the right top corner. Hope that makes sense. Nicely done! :-)

veronicalynne (veronica lynne) added a critique 1 year ago:

Interesting. I enjoy the comments. At first glance I thought she was the only woman and that perhaps was the reason for singling her out. then I looked more closely and realized that there may infact be another woman in the photo. I think the selection of the woman at the bottom (as you've done) or perhaps the man at the top is selective. I would like to see the b&w lightened up a bit so that it contrasts more with the color.

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like what you did. I do understand its your wife, so definitely must please her:) But it'd also be good to try some of the others. Who is selected can really change the mood. If she were looking at the camera and she were color to me it'd be like she came alive while the rest are frozen, but nothing about her body language sticks out...
