I like this simplistic shot, but I would have deleted the dust at the wall.

I love this the colours are great and the composition is very interesting
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:
Very nice Eric, I love the colors and tones. I just think there is a bit too much negative space at the top. I did a scroll bar crop to a square and it feels better to me...?

Thanks Clyde for your idea and for your comment ;)

Excellent! Love the voyeuristic feel to this! I take it this is the UK - makes me feel home sick a little looking at it like this!

Actually this was shot in Bruges, Belgium :D

WONDERFUL IDEA !!! My favourite photo - such a simple idea brought to perfection. Even my little son plays with the spoon reflection every lunchtime but to do this with it would never come to my mind. Congratulations playful soul !

I agree a B&W version might be really nice. It's a pity the street in the background is blown out it would be nice to see some detail there.
The leaves on the trees could make a nice frame around the photo if it was shot from a different angle.
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:
Superb
as for pygment i agree about the blown out,
but it dont really matter as leaving the tree and is leave add to the composition,
im not a fan of b/w even if you added sepia to
create a feel of old, the detail would have been lost
still a great photo to my eyes.
thanks

OK here is my .02 cent opinion
1- to create a fell of old in b/w this paint should be redone, let face it, b/w photo was taken when this was brand new with no sign of aging.
2-I use to live in an time when tv was b/w (first 13 years)
and dont regreat a moment when it convert to color.
3-Let face it was is more important the now or the as been.

Looks like I'm the first one to disagree with the need of cropping. In my point of view it's a well balanced picture and the pavement in front gives it certain depth. If there was more space above her there would be too many distracting detail and the main message of the picture would get lost.
willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:
I guess I'm in the don't crop camp too. The pavement does imply depth and gives the feel that I am there.
The woman's face is may not be sharp. But sharpness can be over rated. Capturing her expression gives this photo much more meaning than waiting for AF or manual focusing. Spontaneous photography does not have to be technically perfect to be good. This is better thab good.
jaapv added a critique 1 year ago:
I would not crop either, but I think colour adds nothing. I is crying out for B&W, and some grain.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love this image, but agree that it is not quite sharp enough, especially in the area of her face (it looks to me that the camera focused on the bike and left her slightly out of focus). I'd keep the crop as is - even though often times the crop goes in the direction of her line of sight. Here, though, with the short crop on top there is a sense of tension or interest because we can't see what is holding her gaze. Well done. I should be so lucky to find a subject like this and do half as well with her.
