I get it, but the impact is not there for me. Technically, you have achieved something - to be sure - but it doesn't grab me. I do keep returning to this one, however. It draws me in at some level, I suppose.

I like this image a lot and like Jon mentioned I understand were you're going with it. The black and white really gives it a raw feel and I like that a lot.

The only problem I have with this image (I'm nitpicking though) is that my eyes aren't drawn to the crack in the mud, but constantly move up to the high contrast sky and tree area.

I do keep coming back to look at this though which in the end means the image does something to me. Well done.

I like the overall composition but have two things to mention:
1) it is too high, I cannot view it in whole without scrolling
2) it looks more than a crack in mud rather than in ice (what I expected in winter topic)

I think the failure from this image is that i put the sharp area a little bit to low, and i don't have a line that lead into this crack :)

The other problem that i faced is in this Black and white version it is not easy to make it saw like ice rather than mud :( it is a lack of experience on me.

Sorry about my bad English. Since i moved to Germany and have to speak in Germany it is difficult for me to start again talking and typing in English

I have viewed this photo a few times now.
As everyone else says, you have something here, just refine it a bit.
Lack of experience can only be overcome by attempts and failed attempts.
Keep shooting.

technically it's very interesting but i don't understand exactly what i see so it's difficult to say if it fits or not to the topics and if i like it or not

This would have been interesting on a horizontal level too. I like the concept. I agree that it's too tall.
