I tihnk you cropped it to tight, i wanna see more to the bottom. Or make it tighter, focusing on the ropes. And i need the pure blue for the sky :)

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) said 10 months ago:

in fact i did not have the choice to crop it differently i was on that boat only with a compact camera and no wide angle...

selaux (Sarah) added a critique 10 months ago:

very nice shapes and just a hint of color. well done!

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:

Geo,

Nice job with the compact - thanks for sharing! Strong composition.

Best,
Jon

Saludos

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

i like how you make the composition, but it is better if you could do somthing to that blur thing at the left corner :)

juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) said 10 months ago:

Muchas gracias por su critica/observación. Intenté quitar la parte borrosa inferior izda, pero suponia arriesgar toda la composición. Por lo tanto opté por conservar ese pequeño defecto en aras a conseguir lo que realmente me interesaba, la tela de araña completa. Saludos.

using red filter

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:

Okay - I'm in. I love the tension between the two people, and love the long, vertical of the sky. Great concept and great use of space. Hooray!

Best,
Jon

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 10 months ago:

"using red filter"-why? to make green people? I don't really understand the use of the filter here. This would then need to be converted to B&W to be successful, right?? I just tried it on my desktop, looks like a great tonal range in B&W... I would re-submit if I were you. All the strength of composition and negative space that you have here will come across so much better in B&W.

Just one Hillbilly's 2c worth.

ple (ferry kana) said 10 months ago:

Hi Beamer, you are right, i used to did that too, changed to BW.
But i wanna try something different, than share it here to know how the people will react.
please take a look here : flickr.flashapis.com/host/?username=76203177@N00
The whole experiment with color i put it there :)
Thanks for your appreciation.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 10 months ago:

well i like the subject, the compo but imo i don't understand why you used that red filter

pretty hairy...

alek (alek lindus) added a critique 1 year ago:

hairy ass is great and whats the point of having photos of clone like humans with alabaster skin - please! spare me the statuesque. Tis is a good powerful shot, it works better than the other one, precisely because of the background details/drama conveyed; location a time light capture and all 'blemishes' [note the quotes there]. i prefer it without the knife, the skull and Xbones is already noir enough

GLJ00 (Gary Jagours) added a critique 11 months ago:

Nice shot, the blinds add a good feel to photo.

Jessa added a critique 11 months ago:

I agree with alek, the skull and crossbones is enough. well done

i prefer waxing :) because with no hair the whole pattern would see better :) but it just my taste

soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great and texture, DOF, and lighting.

The stem of the leaf looks a bit cut, perhaps a tighter crop would look better, but that's well may be subjective.

Overall, great shot.

soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 1 year ago:

Also, a bit of space to the left of the large leaf would be good in my eyes.

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very cool.
Great colors and details.
I agree that a bit could be done with the composition to make this pop out!

imagenature (Alexander Belokurov) added a critique 1 year ago:

Nice details, but a bit overexposed to my taste...

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

its to tight in my eyes, bit space to the left and more to the right, with more space at the right your yellow leaf will be more exposed

Very powerful image - well done! Best, Jon

crahan (Thomas Bouve) added a critique 10 months ago:

Awesome contrast and selective highlights. If I can give a small remark: I would have loved to see the thumb completely on the image (although it might have been your intention). Other than that minor nitpick I think you nailed it.

Love the texture in the hand by the way.

wonderful play with light and shadow! great one!

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

it is deed powerful image, but why you cut the finger in the right side ?

Ludimaginary (Richard Vantielcke) added a critique 10 months ago:

Nice capture even if it's strange that the hand is cut in the right side.
Maybe better with less blur on the background.

great picture indeed, but this one i saw so many times.. its like eating my fav cheesy fries 10 times in a row. sorry for saying so ;-)
no one would leave from the golden arch without a picture, but only few with one like yours.

(OoO)

Oh, my god, thats so beautiful, the contrast, colours, composition, everything is perfect.

Did you use film or digital? Which film or digital camera did you use? Can you reveal the exif data? I would like to know something more of this photography.

Thank you and congratulations.

gold-coast (Rod L'Huillier) added a critique 10 months ago:

great stuff, can't help but look at that ring thing and think it has more of a story to tell (ie. more shots just as interesting as this one). Great work to have that mountain range in the backdrop of this shot.

RachelValley (Rachel Valley) added a critique 10 months ago:

What beauty...and how lucky we are to have eyes (and cameras) to see them!

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

i would take it more to the left, i agree with Beamer, but to do a crop is not what i like to do :)

I wanted to say:The background is very pleasant and emphasizes the sheets

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 1 year ago:

this one is pretty good.

PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this. The purple is a little bright but I really like the overall effect! I agree with Pixim; maybe if you softened it up a bit, the purple wouldn't be so harsh and blend more with the top of the image.

Overall, well done!

Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:

Pixim - Thanks for commenting. I agree with you about the spot on top of the photo, that was the main reason I asked for critiques!

Bastian - Thanks for the nice comment!

Stephanie - Again, I agree and thanks for taking the time to comment.

Much appreciated everyone!
