You've given these sunflowers a lot of character Nick, looks they're posing for an album cover. Rock on! ;-)

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

little more red will make it better and if you just delete the 2 lines at the top right, it will be better (but it's only my 2 cents )

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:

Nice abstract - good color choices and nice light. Good job!

Best,
Jon

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 10 months ago:

it's a nice abstract picture and it fits to the topics but it's perhaps a little too "abstract" for me i would prefer it with a little more details

Ludimaginary (Richard Vantielcke) said 10 months ago:

ple >>> A kind like all those parallel lines...

jvgphoto >>> Thanks

photoaholic >>> The idea was not to have little details and have this sort of macro long exposure shot.

I love the lines and the contrasting color. Very nice!

Love the colors.

lolly (lolly smits) said 1 year ago:

ditto, and the composition.

KidJim (Jean Marc Veliscek) said 1 year ago:

@lolly : what does "ditto" means !?
Thanks for the feed-backs !

lolly (lolly smits) said 1 year ago:

KidJim: 'ditto' means 'the same as...', so I am saying I agree with what jordanabanana has said, and then added my own little bit as well!

ple (ferry kana) said 9 months ago:

me too....ditto...

Fantastic. Love the light and the colors. What a great sky also.

KerriDoodle (Kerri) added a critique 10 months ago:

What a rush to be in the right place at the right time. This light is every photog's dream. This almost looks like a painting. Very nice. Is this a collapsed building?

ple (ferry kana) said 10 months ago:

@Kerri : it is not a collapse building its a Landmark, please read : ww2panorama.org/panoramas/stuttgart

Fantome added a critique 10 months ago:

I like the tones and the small waves. However, I'm not convinced by the composition. The two white snow sections, top and bottom, are useful to make a frame and show the winter, but they are too important.

I would have prefered a "landscape" orientation. It would have removed a part of the top, that actually does not contribute to the picture. It would have given room on the left, to amplify the movement.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:

I really like this and think the framing works if you crop a little more of the top. Great possibilities with this one, I think. Love the water and the designs which the ducks have created in it. -jon

RachelValley (Rachel Valley) said 10 months ago:

Thanks to you both for the input!

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

in my eyes it looks like a pattern of lines. The contrast in water is beautiful but not in the snow area. Maybe you can crop it on top and bottom an leave the eyes concentrated on ducks.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 9 months ago:

i agree with the crop idea, i think it would be better with little less top (but that's just my opinion)
otherwise it's a good shot

austriaka (Karin) added a critique 10 months ago:

an impressive mountain and captured very well. It comes out like an old postcard, I am not sure if I like that. I would prefer more tonal width in the greys and more details in the forest. But perhaps this is only my personal taste :-)

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 10 months ago:

good picture but in my humble opinion, this pic lack a bit of detail in the forest and also the texture from the cloud if you wanna make it "perfect"

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:

I like very much - the composition is very strong - light is gorgeous and your use of space is just right! Thanks for sharing. Btw, Ple's comments are very applicable.

Best,
Jon

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 10 months ago:

i like this picture and it is obviously perfect for the topics but i agree with austriaka, i'd like to have a little more details

burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 10 months ago:

Nice toning; nice composition.

ple (ferry kana) said 10 months ago:

Thanks for the comments.

I think the failure from this image is that i put the sharp area a little bit to low, and i don't have a line that lead into this crack :)

The other problem that i faced is in this Black and white version it is not easy to make it saw like ice rather than mud :( it is a lack of experience on me.

Sorry about my bad English. Since i moved to Germany and have to speak in Germany it is difficult for me to start again talking and typing in English

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 10 months ago:

ple,

Great attempt.
I have viewed this photo a few times now.
As everyone else says, you have something here, just refine it a bit.
Lack of experience can only be overcome by attempts and failed attempts.
Keep shooting.
Looking forward to more of this type!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 10 months ago:

technically it's very interesting but i don't understand exactly what i see so it's difficult to say if it fits or not to the topics and if i like it or not

ple (ferry kana) said 10 months ago:

reynertz, it's okay, i made this pic mostly based on technical thing, because i just learnt something from internet :), but i miss the "mood" thing. thank you for your appreciation

burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 10 months ago:

This would have been interesting on a horizontal level too. I like the concept. I agree that it's too tall.
