I agree about the saturation being a bit too high. Another suggestion would be capturing either 1/3rd of the sky or the grass setting the other element take 2/3rd. Excellent image nonetheless!

high contrast, high saturated !!! just the one that i like !!

360Pixels (Ayash Basu) added a critique 1 month ago:

Eye catching image for sure. I might have preferred a)less saturation on the colors and b)a non-square "landscape" view.

I would crop 10% off of the top. The 10% has interesting clouds, but I think it would look better without it. Did you get any longer exposures showing the wheat moving?

This is really awesome.

Honestly, I cannot see anything to be critical about in this image. I have nothing but praise! Having the people in this shot to scale is great...it's much like the world of Dali. Truly an incredible shot!

An almost surrealistic picture...
To present it in B&W and to do a square crop were the perfect choices for this. In short: A great picture :-)

colors are fabulous! What is that backround? Very striking photo!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 month ago:

@Sarah: This is a total Photoshop treatment, this started out looking pretty much like this one from the same shoot:

www.vazaar.com/user:Beamer/photos/id:29618/

The background is made from combining a shot of tree bark and a shot of an abstract watercolor painting using various Photoshop transfer modes. Thanks for the comments!!

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 1 month ago:

Clyde,

Love the texture and color of the bark - great contrast with the yellow of the flower. Yeah for Photoshop - it really allows us to do so much in a painterly vein. Nice work and instant favorite for me. Lovely composition.

Best,
Jon

nice postpro combination

bradford (Bradford Levine) added a critique 1 month ago:

I like this. Very nice ps effect. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a bit more contrast in the center of the flower to punch it up a little.

Great work! Even the shadowing is nice!

chromadreams (David) said 4 months ago:

so good, I'm with Ana, i were looking for some mistake there but it isn't anything wrong, so great.

ple (ferry kana) said 4 months ago:

there is some mistake from the human shadow, specially in front of his face :)but i like the idea

Neuner said 3 months ago:

I like the idea to, but the shadow on him I feel is incorrect. If you look at the extinguisher there are two shadows from two stronger light sources. The strongest or more direct is from the upper left and the less is from the upper right. Both lights can be seen in the reflection of the top of the extinguisher. The man only shows one shadow that would come from a light to the back right. Under his shoe the shadow is shown better from the extinguishers light source.

high ISO ? i think it's to much grainy

MMeye (Martine) said 4 months ago:

I think the grain/noise was fully intended by Tracy. Anyway, even if it ain't so, I like it, as it brings a special mood, exactly fitting the expression of the portrait. What a look...
Really beautiful.

TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 4 months ago:

Thank you Martine, I myself am not a huge fan of grain just as an addition for effect, I think if it fits the image then it works. This was taken with a high iso 1600 or 3200 and while I wish I had a picture of her taken without the high iso, the grain here does add to this particular image.
