I agree with Thomas that the shot is well conceived, it is a shame that the boat isn't slightly sharper. I also like the colours in the water and the contrast with the white foam of the wash, almost begs the boat to be further right in the frame to capture more of this great part of the action.

Beyond the focus issue, I also think that the lighting of the boat is a little too dark. The figures in the boat are hard to make out.

Thomas thanks for your comment, jimi, as thomas has said, a speedboat does not have the habit to wait you for the shot but perhaps next time i'll ask the boat to come with me in my studio and let me the time to change the lighting :-)

@Geoffrey: you made me chuckle at that studio remark :). Still, there are of course a few things you can keep in mind if you ever have the opportunity to shoot an action scene like this again.
I'd say crank up the shutterspeed quite a bit. I'm not sure what speed you used here, but I'd personally increase it by quite a bit. You can always compensate with your aperture and/or ISO if needed.
What shutter speed was this shot at exactly, Geoffrey?

thomas, i can't answer you question, for this shot i used a compact (HP photosmart), this photocamera is very basic and nearly full automatic...

Well then I can only compliment you on this photo Geoffrey. If you shot this using a compact camera on automatic mode you've kept the motion blur within bounds quite well.

I like what you did with the slanted horizon. It adds quite a bit of drama to this shot. But, I would have loved to see a little bit more sharpness in the subject. It's nitpicking I know. Especially since a speedboat doesn't exactly sit still.
