Wow...what a wonderful statement of how many is changing his environment and not paying attention to "how" his creations do not blend with their surroundings.

dcrphotography (Daniel) said 1 year ago:

The colors seem a bit over the top, too saturated. Nice tho'.

SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) said 1 year ago:

Phillipe,

This photo has inspired me. I will be traveling to Arizona this week to the Glenn Canyon and Lake Powell. Also to other places, but I will make a special effort to find this place you have shown in your photo. Perhaps I will make some photos of my own here. =)

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Excellent, Jason! This shot was taken near Page, but I wouldn't recommend to stay in Page. Kanab, not far from Page, is a charming town. Try the Victoria charm Inn...
Looking forward to see your pictures...

Thanks for the tips. I'm leaving today! See you.

Love the colours and layers here.

Lemmingstone (Peter) said 1 year ago:

Philippe - This is great. All the layers, sky, haze and trees give a wonderful perspective.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Arne and Peter. I presume you've recognized LA, from the Getty museum.

Lemmingstone (Peter) said 1 year ago:

No problem philippe. LA has a great skyline doesn't it? I love how downtown just rises up on all sides.

Philippe, nice lines from the shadows, and warm lighting. I'm not crazy about the off kilter angle, but that's a personal thing.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Roberta, this is the kind of critique I can handle :O)))
Actually, I think there's something missing, here. I would have loved someone in a red outfit showing at a window...

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Well Philippe, that's why we have PhotoShop, isn't it? ;-)

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Ah! That's an interesting -and recurrent- topic, Bob.
I wouldn't use PS here (like I did for the "ghost" picture).

I love the colors used in the photo, great crop!

Lemmingstone (Peter) said 1 year ago:

I agree with Charon. Very nice. Colours are great and dare I say it, but this should appear in a rule of thirds textbook. Everything is perfectly placed.

I had that very same dream last night - :)

Very ethereal feeling to this and great saturated colours without being overdone. But where is the rabbit?

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Arne. The rabbit was late, as usual. :O)

Surreal! OK, this is the end of the world as we know it. Great image. Love the light on the rock. My only nit pick would be to dodge in a bit more light on the goats. But it's a nit pick.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comment. And i agree for the light on the goats... :O)

dcrphotography (Daniel) said 1 year ago:

Neat critters! Don't know how that fits the theme, but then best of 2006 is open for inturpertation.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Well, it's just one of my favorites of 2006. :O)

How do you get your hair to stand up so straight like that?

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thank you ladies and gentlemen (and others), I'm glad you find this funny. This is something I made for WS and I didn't have the chance to post. Maybe someday, i'll post a "serious" selfie...

jasonwlangley said 1 year ago:

philippe,

I've been rating this up like hell. Hopefully it can get featured. That would be quite nice.

Laurie (Laurie) said 1 year ago:

LOL...I find this one very amusing, and yes you do look rather worried. Is something troubling you? Well don't let it get you down, things will get better.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Jason, thanks a lot! ;O)

Laurie, :O))), I'm not worried, I'm anxious, and I don't know if I can do anything about it ;O)

And it's my wife, Christine, who gave me this face when she drew on my hand. I'm going to demand an explanation straight away :O))

Totally beautiful. I would put this on my wall. I love the lighting and the almost painterly quality of the background. As well as the colours.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thank you, Nynke, I appreciate. :O)

lbstone (Brandon Stone) said 1 year ago:

Yeah... very simple... great tones and colors. Composition and light are just perfect to my eyes.

This is one of those images that helps me to remember that there's beauty in some of the most simple things.

lbstone (Brandon Stone) said 1 year ago:

Nice... glad this got featured.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Brandon!

Glad this was selected for a feature, everytime it came up in the ratings I thought "this epitomizes the theme". Well done and congrats.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Well, thank you so much for your comment. I didn't know it had been featured!

claudeschneider (Claude Schneider) said 1 year ago:

A wonderful combination of textures and patterns, as well as some mesmerising warping. Well captured.
