I too agree that the person adds to the shot, rather than taking away. It places the shot in the real world, and give it perspective. Otherwise, it could have been a model...

Very nice framing and contrast. Nice shot.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:
This a very nice composition, great subject. I think it is a little flat, needs a little "punch" in the tonal range, imo.
Smooch added a critique 17 days ago:
I agree with Clyde. Nice composition and subject. It does need a bit of a punch in the tonal range, if possible. I would have cropped just above the bottom concrete pad. It's a little distracting to me. Purely subjective though. Well seen and captured. Concrete is hard to photograph, especially the shadows. It's hard to separate the noise from the texture sometimes.

Nice capture!
The lines of the horizon and shore, along with the subject being slightly off centered really makes for a good composition.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:
Nice capture Jeff, I wonder if you cropped this to pano, or shot it this way. I ask, because the building and the rainbow being cutoff as they are feels restricted or awkward to me.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) said 2 months ago:
@ Beamer: A little of both. There was a lanai floor directly above me when I shot this, so I had an obstructed view of the building. I also cropped it a bit to eliminate the lanai floor. I agree that it is not the best presentation. In a later version I photoshopped the other half of the rainbow, which helps a bit with the awkwardness. HuubL added a critique 2 months ago:
Nice light here! I agree with Clyde. Not much to be done about the cropped building an rainbow, but it degrades the photo a bit. BTW, I looked at the PS-ed rainbow version and knowing that it wasn't there makes this one the better one for me.

Greatly seen and good coposition. Rainbow in an urban setting looks nice. Could be a little more sharp though.

c'est magnifique et surréaliste. (juste, dommage que le soleil soit si fort, il est cramé). La couleur des bancs du fond est superbe

Think you can crop it to avoid too centered image in order to give more attention to sky or sand.
mrraggedyandy added a critique 3 months ago:
love how the sand looks like snow
larsomat (Lars Pohlmann) added a critique 3 months ago:
perfect as it is. no cropping needed.
Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 1 month ago:
Its a great shot, but since you want a critique, the only thing I can think of is to remove some sand from the bottom and a little part of the left of the image. I guess it could be done either way, showing more of sky or sand. My two cents :)

Very nice one, I like the treatment. I might have cropped a little of the right to loose the dark edge and the boxes leaning at the bottom.

Merci Olivier, me alegro que esta composición le haya gustado asi como el ambiente conseguido. Saludos
juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) said 2 months ago:
Thanks Clyde por su comentario, me alegro que le haya gustado el tratamiento empleado en esta composición. No me percaté en los elementos del lado derecho tal y como usted comenta, considero que tiene razón aunque creo que no influye demasiado en el resto del trabajo. Saludos
bigoode (Anthony le Bourlier) said 1 month ago:
like this a lot
exept the sky effects because "too much" and distract me from the subject
juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) said 1 month ago:
Según mi traductor, el tratamiento fuerte del cielo le distrae del sujeto Anthony. Si es así entiendo lo que me quiere decir y agradezco mucho el haber reparado en mi fotografia y por supuesto el haber parado a comentarla. Saludos

Great shot.
I like the story as some of the most impromptu shots lead to the most interesting results!
HuubL added a critique 3 months ago:
For a candid street portrait it's quite nice. As Tamara said, the reflecting glasses are great. Pity for the distracting background though, but I realize you can't avoid it in a street shot like this.
AmberDawn (Amber Sullivan) added a critique 3 months ago:
Background doesn't seem to distracting to me. Like the shadows and light, the skin texture and the bow tie! Is a great photo.

I agree with the above positive comments here J.A. There is a good mix of detail and shadow and the post-production treatment sets it off nicely. Well done.

Good use of colour and dof here. I agree with Beamer that the refraction in the two big drops is a positive. Well done.

Sharp, perfectly exposed and full of interesting elements. I really like this photo. The green is so vibrant and the depth of field makes the shot. Beautiful.
Nice repetition here!
