well done!
(I would like to see this view reduced to the reflection!)

Very nice. After reading the comments and looking again, I agree that it would be stronger with the building in focus.

Mysight, yes this is snow.

Hello Joan,
This is a really artistic rendering. I love the dreamy look to the photo. Just goes to show that a silhouette can be used to capture beauty. Nice work.

Really nice shot, but does it really fit to this topic? It seems for me that the perspective is from above.
msdedi (Linda) said 1 year ago:
prometheus it was taken from below and under the web to get the shot of the silk coming from her abdomen as she was repairing her web

I bet this would look awesome in b&w as well. Very dramatic image with an incredible sky.
odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:
Nice blue sky, the soft red tones all around are also cool. I think that this picture fits in the backlighting, too.
aepoc (Jason Kessenich) added a critique 1 year ago:
To me, this image is really powerful. It shows how "uphill" the battle of everyday life can be, and how the person has to be prepared for it. Every morning is a new day. You're able to start over, if you so choose. This is a wonderful photo.

Hi, Sean. Thank you. I think about a series with this theme.
nfds (Notes From Different Spots) added a critique 1 year ago:
This image looks like a screenshot from a nex-gen computer game. Looks like state of the art three dimensional graphics, that's fantastic! Hard to believe it's a toy. You've dome some good job!
Neuner added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with Tony. I'd like the crop only if there was an archnemesis or barbie doll toy in the background to give it some story. Otherwise I think it is good.
odon (Odon Dias) said 1 year ago:
Thank you so very much, nfds and Neuner.
I did the shot before the story. Now, the road is open to create some scripts.
Thanks, again.

Simply brilliant! I can't find anything to criticize in here.
Was this real mist or just water with a really, really slow speed? It's not the first time I see this kind of shot and I've always wondered...
zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) said 1 year ago:
nattfodd, the ten stop filter reduces the shutter speed by a factor of 1000 (1024 to be precise). If I remember right this exposure was around 65 seconds in afternoon light - the normal exposure would have been about 1/15 - 1/20 second. Any water slapping up the beach takes on a very misty look.
nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) added a critique 1 year ago:
@zenith9: that's great, I've hit this problem many times and usually just have resolved to wait sunset...
Thanks a lot for this tip, I will try to get one of those filters!
psychodudu (Andrew Parker) added a critique 1 year ago:
Doesn't look like water though, does it...? It looks...like mist. So there's your criticism. Extremely atmospheric it is, and a super image, water however, it is not. Always had a little problem with this representation of water, I'm afraid. Just voicing my opinion, you can't have it all your own way...lol!
creative666 (Craig Wilson) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love it! I'd have it printed and hang it on a wall! Truely a great image...

I like the color of the water and the wood but I regret all the reflections we can see on the water... It could have been better if you have used a filter !
odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:
Cool contrast on the colors. But the dead tree reflection looks strange, maybe due to the saturated colors. I think the top part of the image is better.
The whole picture in black and white could also be nice, even without a filter.
Blumie (Sabine) said 1 year ago:
Thanks a lot for your friendly critic and also for the hints. I can not use filters on my camera, but maybe you can tell me, which one on Photoshop could help ...
odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:
I'm suspect to talk about this stuff. If you don't mind, this picture could be amazing in gray scales, black and white or sepia tones. In the case that you love the original colors, a Smoked Glass filter could help. But is just a point of view. ;-)
creative666 (Craig Wilson) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love the colours - bluey green works well in this.
