Thank you Beamer! Funny thing is, I didn't really think this photo was all that great!!!

beautiful colors! I really like the placement of the flower in your photograph! Great photography, keep it up :)

AmberDawn (Amber Sullivan) added a critique 3 months ago:

This photo seems very sharp and clear, I love the blue of the water especially. The composition is great. The only thing I can think to improve on is the flower looks a tad washed out by the sun - may have gotten a bit more color from the pink if it was later in the day, or used shade and a reflector for softer light.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:

This whole image is a little flat in tonal range. Do you have a raw file? If so re-convert with about a 1/2 stop underexposure and then work with the curves to pull out more range. Maybe crop just a bit tighter. I like the off-center placement of the main subject.

boyd added a critique 3 months ago:

I agree that this shot is a touch overexposed for the flower, but it is a very difficult lighting situation to control and you have done a stirling job. The composition is very strong and the colours in the leaves and water are great.

j'aime l'effet vieille diapo et le reflet. moins le cadrage, j'aurais recule un peu plus pour avoir le début de l'autre aile ne entier.

mrsmorunion (Tammy Runion) said 3 months ago:

There were so many other cars that it was difficult to get a shot like that without getting too much clutter in the background. That's why I opted to get just the front fin.

Thanks!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:

I understand your problems with this type of environment, I have been to several car shows and it is difficult. But, that said, this composition does feel cramped and awkward. The bottom and the tail pipes bother me more that the upper left. Maybe you could just focus on the one fin and the emblem on the quarter panel, i.e. go even tighter.

HuubL added a critique 3 months ago:

Pity for the cropped left backwing. But I love that star effect of the highlight on the bumper. BTW, I'm not a fan of these casual digital frames.

mrsmorunion (Tammy Runion) said 3 months ago:

Thank you HuubL, I did try this photo without the frame and didn't like it as well. It was so sunny that day and I was playing around with that start filter on all those shiny paint jobs!

Thank you...this is actually two yellow walls with a hallway between, it's just that by taking advantage of the angle it actually gives it a rounded feel. The various shades of yellow came simply from the lighting above.

I keep coming back to this image to leave a comment, so I guess it does do something to me :). Very abstract. I Would have loved to see it a bit more off center though.

yellow abstract interesting i love it (perhaps just a little bit too centered)

pfeel (Phil Verges) added a critique 9 months ago:

Very intriguing, you have a great eye!
I'm not sure whether I think it's too centered or not, the black line makes all the difference (as Nick says).
If you can go back to this interior, you could shoot it again and experiment with different compositions, maybe even a vertical format?
Also, it might be interesting to catch the silhouette of a person in the distance down the hallway - lots of potential for more great stuff!

Hi Tammy
Same feeling as Ana regarding the branches on the left. Regardless, this is a nice winter scene, with a good white balance.

tjm added a critique 7 months ago:

Good picture. I like the branches on the left. That area would have been blank without them. The whites and shadows are also a plus. Enjoyed this one.

shivahuja (shiv ahuja) added a critique 7 months ago:

IMO, i would have composed to not have the branches,
and maybe used a polarizer for a deeper blue in the sky,or maybe you could do that during PP.

mrsmorunion (Tammy Runion) said 7 months ago:

I knew that those branches were going to get me! I saw that, but thought I'd see what kind of feedback I got and you've all confirmed! Thanks for your comments.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i've to agree for the branches but it stays a really nice shot

I really like this, it reminds me of the old A-Ha video for Take On Me back in the 80's. Well done and thanks for sharing !

mrsmorunion (Tammy Runion) said 1 year ago:

Thank you. Took a close-up of my daughter, her eyes are such a beautiful blue anyway, just went with that and kept playing with the photo until I ended up with this.

Hanssie (Hans Stellingwerf) said 7 months ago:

The eye is nice indeed, but I like the fading-away-effect here, that's very nice done, Tammy !

Nicely done!

It's a great portrait. I think having the whole baby's head in the shot would have been cool, and maybe SLIGHTLY more in focus, but other than that, it's a great shot. I guess I may turn up the mid levels a bit too. :)

ryanopaz (Ryan Opaz) added a critique 7 months ago:

Yeah, I agree with the need for a bit more of the head in the shot and better focus. Also might up the color saturation a bit, or go sepia..

Great shot of the bears. The black and white is excellent medium for this picture. Can't picture color here.

le reflet est beau mais le cadrage n'est pas très pertinent

What a beautiful spot and amazing reflection - nice job with this one, Tammy!

Best,
Jon

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 8 months ago:

Beautiful reflection...I know you can't control this, but I wish the water was a little less rippeled...but it is still a wonderful photo!!

boyd added a critique 8 months ago:

I agree with the others, Tammy, that this is a strong shot. The two features I like are the use of colour and the framing to include only the parts fo the trunks at the top that are cut off in the reflections at the bottom - very cool. Well done.

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 8 months ago:

Yeah very cool, love the continuation of the trees from real into reflection, great concept.
Cheers :)
