Um, well, understandable that you feel the image is soft due to the burnt highlights but that's why it fits the "high key" category. The brightness burns ths detail and achieves this outcome. Rather than the image being "soft" or out of focus this is a technique. Thanks for your input though. We'll see what others may have to say?

Mooch,
Apparently, it was your intention to go for soft. That's great. However, I've shot hundreds (no exaggeration) of high-key shots over the years which were extremely sharp - it's a technique as well. Cheers, Jon

Me gusta mucho esta fotografia, creo que los contrastes adecuados acompañan perfectamente la expresión de la mirada de la chica. Enhorabuena. Saludos

I don't wish to question your experience but I haven't seen any examples of either that or any other "know" techniques. Cheers

I do not mind at all whether it is a perfect technique or not that you show us with this pic, only the result is important for me. My feeling joins Jon's one, I also wished it had been a bit sharper. Just a matter of taste, I do not use large apertures with portraits. But of course this is not a rule, and I'm sure that others will love it as it is. ;-)

The eyes look sharp enough for me. Nice portrait.

For me, although I think it's a great capture of this girl's smile and inner beauty, I wish it were just a litte more focused. It is a little bit soft - maybe, though, this was your intention? Nice work. Best, jon
