What a interesting subject !!!
I find too much invading your foreground , DoF less important would have also allowed to highlight your principal subject, this old building which breaks the figure. Some small defects in my eyes of “criticism” but if you can it, quickly turns over in order to make us benefit from new shoots. Greetings.

This image really feels flat. I think most of that is in the tonal range being to thin. The focus on the building is soft. I agree about the foreground, calls too much attention to itself, you could easily crop half way up into the bushes. Sometimes I think the old adage of always having something in the foreground of landscape composition is way over rated.

Yeah i was unsure on the aperture to use but i have been eying this subject for some time and finally had the opportunity to stop and capture it.

The lighting was really tricky here. The sky was overcast and there happened to be sections, such as this, where the light was showing through. I was unsure on how to handle the foreground..
I had to include the bushes due to only having the ability to take this from the road and my digital camera is not an SLR. I think your suggestion of the crop may work well and I may post a new one here!

What would you like to see changed in the composition.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

The light on the barn is pretty good, I think. The light in the background is very flat and destroys the overall effect, in my opinion. Very nice attempt, however.

I like the image, but it does need a little more pop to it. Make the background a little more appealing and maybe even try to spruce up the barn a little. A shame about those bushes, but nothing you can do about that. Great eye.
