Nice portret, i like the way he's looking away. Maybe it would be even nicer if you crop the photograph in a square.

Personally I like the composition w/o crop. I like some empty space, particularly if the subject isn't looking directly into the camera. What seems like backlighting really adds to the contrast. Nice!
