Very beautiful and peaceful looking. Great colors.

I'd like to see the shot without the ledge in the foreground, however that might be a bit scary for you! Love the colour in this and the longer than normal exposure adds to this shot!

Wow, the color of the pool below against those desert browns is fantastic. Great long exposure. My only small critique could be to brighten the levels just a tad to get a little more detail in the foilage and rocks.

That's beautiful. Great complimentary color tones and well executed slow shutter speed technique.

it always works this kind of images !
Really nice.
Is that digital or silver-emulsion ?

manickavelu (velu) said 1 year ago:

thanks for the comments.

this was shot with a Nikon D70s digital SLR camera fitted with a 18-70mm Nikkor lens.

Congratulations on the feature. I knew it wouldn't be long before this hit the front page. Where is this place?

manickavelu (velu) said 1 year ago:

this is the "havasu falls" at the base of the grand canyon in Arizona (USA). There is a village at the base of the canyon called Supai where native americans live year round. from the rim of the canyon, it is a 8 mile hike to get to the village (and another 2 miles to get to the waterfalls) .. or you could take a chopper & get there in 20 minutes!

it is truly a magical place .. and the hike is just as magical as the falls.

now upload to blur and you have 3 topics with the same image :-))))

manickavelu (velu) said 1 year ago:

good one Vernon!!

Frankly I had forgotten that I had added this image in the "long exposure" category when I uploaded it for "water works". Since you can see only the last 12 images u've uploaded .. it's easy to forget sometimes.

I guess once Brandon adds the feature to see more than just your last 12 uploads, it will be easier to track.

Cheers!

you're right. I have the same prob...

I rename the files to vazaar_topicname_# before uploading and check first if it's already uploaded. :-)

Beautiful Picture! Love the colors. I agree with Ian though it would be better without that ledge. But even with it, it's still an amazing picture!

right out of a dream!

sunside (Markus Mayer) added a critique 1 year ago:

I somehow feel that it's a pit too punchy in the colors; The upper left part seems a bit too crisp to me whereas the lower right part of the rock distracts me - but I guess it's a good shot nevertheless and I'm just jealous that I haven't been there. :)
