Nice textures, lighting and DoF. I would question the relevancy because for me the subject is the whole of the wood/metal/hook thing, even the bit that is out of the focal plane, so therefore it occupies most of the frame. Great image though.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
The perspective is great...seems like it's upside down. The whole shot seems important so I don't know how minimalist it is.
inophoto (Jamie Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with the comments above. For me it doesn't seem relevent - although it is a pleasant image.

very nice colors. nice composition. very mystical. nicely done! should be featured soon!

Like the others, it's a nice one but it would be improved with the whole black circle
charmarie (Charmarie) added a critique 1 year ago:
Sometimes I wish I had ideas like this! I love the color and composition. I think this is great.
dominik (Dominik Fusina) added a critique 1 year ago:
Interesting and really strange (Fisheye effect with a ball reflection ??) !
Explanations from Oneye will be more constructive too : what is the support here ? (thanx)

Glad to see that you made it. I love the solitary mood.

Wow. I am surprised this one made it from the earlier comments. Thanks.
doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like it. Totally emits solitude and I think that the log helps convey that. The fact that it is the lone thing in the water, for me, means solitude.
NIce image.

so calm... Great ambiance. All is in the suggestion, in the invisible or nearly. ;)

Very interesting, makes you look at it for a bit and try to figure it out. Nice shot, the colors are great and the bubbles really add to it.
beckn32 (Kim Norton) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like the dark green slashing through the lighter green and the bubbles give good balance. Without them I would be very lost in all the waves of the vase. I wouldn't change a thing.
manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:
very nicely done!
chrislaw2007 added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this a lot. I think the strongest elements of the picture are the contrasts of the bubbles swirling around the darkness of the stem. I might suggest a crop that accentuates that.
Well done!

Strange! Is it a shower curtain? Definately fits the theme.

Blumie,
on the contrary: that's what I was asking for. Your opinions. So I'm not bothered, by thankful for you, just like anyone else commenting.
As for the sky: it's probably blurrĂ because I was focussing on the cross/bird. To be brutally honest, I didn't really care about the sky, it was merely a massy background for me.
I didn't use additional blur here, but some extra sharpening. And I'm an absolute amateur, so I don't really know how I could've made it sharper :(
thanx for your comment again.
jseligman (J Seligman) added a critique 1 year ago:
My comment follows from bioLarzen's. Just a wee bit too much sharpening for the cross and bird. I love the composition of this image.

Definately fits in the theme! Good job.

jseligman,
you're right. I post-processed this on on a laptop and it had too small a screen, that might be the reason I dodn't realize it was oversharpened :(

I find this a very appealing photo. It light playing off the shadows draws the eye in and has a romantic, mythical feel to it.
manickavelu (velu) said 1 year ago:
nice colors. very inviting. the quality of light seems like it was a mid-afternoon shot. if not what time of the day was it shot?
ian (Ian Thomson) said 1 year ago:
Great composition.. Think this fits the theme perfectly, as it seems everyone else does too :)

I like the projected light on the ground and the symmetry with the gate, plus the blueish soft tone on the cobblestones and stonewall.

does seem a little soft. but i think it's a great picture...unique
mikko (Mikko Huotari) added a critique 1 year ago:
very nice!
pfeel (Phil Verges) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very nice! I don't mind the softness, to me it implies motion, almost as if the ball (?) was shot out of the blue circle in the background... I love the fact that you can't really tell what's going on, it creates a sense of wonder.
Butter (Lukas K) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for all the comments...
The reason it is out of focus is because I uploaded the wrong file
Those thumbnails looked darn near the same :)
beckn32 (Kim Norton) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the soft focus here. The thumbnail is so fun to see, as if the sphere is floating in mid-air. Which made me take a second look.

interesting .. but a little too minimal :)
dontbrandme (S) said 1 year ago:
Oh I LOVE how overly minimal it is! I'd like this framed in my home. It reminds me of legos, which my fiance would love. The only thing that I personally would adjust is to make the right side cropped to the right side of the building. It would make it look less like its floating and make the building more solid to me.

Thanks Samantha - that's the question I always ask myself - would I hang this at home? Interesting idea re crop
nice perspective. what is it?
