the subject is pretty. but the flowers in the background are distracting and take my eye away from the main subject. i believe that the background should be one of the most important considering when shooting flowers.
DaveMac (Dave MacIntyre) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with manickavelu on this one. Clone stamping out the background flowers would give this phot more punch.
jeninja-inja (Jenine Lindeque) added a critique 1 year ago:
lovely shallow d.o.f. repetitive patterns can be so striking, but i do agree the here we see to little of the back flowers to create a pattern.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
I also think that the flowers in the background are a little distracting in this case. Otherwise it's very pretty.

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) said 1 year ago:
Great shot.
I guess the reflection in the drop is post-edited.
Naturespixel (Leisa Hennessy) said 1 year ago:
Thank you all :)
@ Bastian no this is how it came out of my camera... only thing done is slight curves and unsharp mask :)

I saw the original image in colour; it looks better than B&W to me.

interesting concept. but the sun and the reflection are a little too bright for my taste.

Very nice. the reflection and the sun are a bit to bright as manic said...but it's a great picture...

It's an interesting cloud formation - I like the capture..
manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:
interesting capture. very painterly.
i believe that spot is sensor dust. I've seen one too many of those!
xavtek (Xavier Rotivel) added a critique 1 year ago:
I don't know why the big cloud make me think of a giant whale of smoke.... There is a lot of movement in that cloud...
jsmanseau added a critique 1 year ago:
Great capture! nice shot and colors
birba (Roberto Pagani) added a critique 1 year ago:
The shape of the cloud is funny. It remember me a sperm whale

Very nicely done. I don't think the ring is distracting... I think it's kind of neat how that specular highlight exists on all the objects in this image... this ties it all together for me. I also like the deep dark red tones here.
The only think that I might try differently is to give a little more air at the bottom of the composition. I feel like the balls are kind of scrunched down in the bottom of the frame. That's probably not much of a big deal though.
Strong image.
doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:
Great shot!I have no problem with the ring, similar to Brandon, i think that the reflection ties it in nicely to the reflections on the balls. And I think I like the balls against the frame. Most times I would agree with wanting some space there, but I think this works. Nice.
Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) said 1 year ago:
Thank you for your comments and suggestions-this is one of my personal favourite photos.
dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:
A little more space at the bottom of the image would be nice.
aldamir (di Carlo Darsa sandro) added a critique 1 year ago:
Space and center could give a more perfect way to this minimal photo.
Congrats on focus.

Pro-centered v Con-centered 3:4 - c'mon, we still can equalize :)))
23pixels (Rowell) added a critique 1 year ago:
That is ultimate solitude. I think leaving the person in the middle is great because it leaves space all around the person making it "solitude".
gregcsmith (Greg Smith) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think 23pixels has it spot on. Just right for the topic. Not sure I am loving the red bag though. I think you should reduce the saturation on it. Good shot!
manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:
the red bag, because of the saturation of the color, draws the eye right to it .. that make the redbag & the person holding it the main subject. just my opinion :)
Marco (Marc-Antoine VACHON) added a critique 1 year ago:
With the panoramic view, the person seems really alone. Nice shot

Lovely colors but too much "movement" for me, nothing I can really focus on.
cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) added a critique 1 year ago:
Even it's a good shot, I agree with bioLarzen, I think it's out of the box because there is nothing stopped and clearly viewable in the motion.
bioLarzen (In retreat) added a critique 1 year ago:
kamaki,
I guess you're still on the sunny side: much better having a great pic that's low in relevance that a bad one that's highly relevant, huh (see mine :)))?
manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:
nice concept .. but too much blurriness without any part of the image in focus is usually not up my alley.
Marco (Marc-Antoine VACHON) added a critique 1 year ago:
Too much blur to me too!! A little shorter exposure could help. Excetp that, I like the colors and the composition
I have only adjusted the colour temp in raw . This river was perfectley flat and the reflections are real.
