you guessed it right, jay. This cat (name is "kajal") definitely has attitude & thinks she rules our house.
thanks for the comments, everyone.

i agree...if the dof was more blurry, it would have had more impact and brought more attention on the cat...but i love the picture

Yeah . The hair over the eye gives her a mysterious look . Stranges but the grainy effect adds to the picture and makes it feel more raw ! ...I like this lots
xavtek (Xavier Rotivel) said 3 years ago:
Thanks everyone for your inputs, mostly the thing i felt strange about was the left eye hidden behind hair.
But as manickavelu said, it adds to the mystery, so i guess it's ok.

I agree great composition and I like the "mystery" Great job.

thanks for the comment, dontbrandme.
this shot was taken in a garden & what you see in the background is a set of out-of-focus flowers. shooting it with a Nikkor 200 macro at a wide aperture really isolates the background & lets the foreground stand out.

Beautiful Picture! Love the colors. I agree with Ian though it would be better without that ledge. But even with it, it's still an amazing picture!

sunside (Markus van Dahlen) added a critique 2 years ago:
I somehow feel that it's a pit too punchy in the colors; The upper left part seems a bit too crisp to me whereas the lower right part of the rock distracts me - but I guess it's a good shot nevertheless and I'm just jealous that I haven't been there. :)

Great job, Jason!
I wonder why the b/w, though. Maybe because of the textures in the lighthouse?
SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) said 3 years ago:
Hi Phil,
I had two cameras with me that night, one color, and one black and white (film). So, it was really just the luck of the draw I guess that this one ended up black and white...
Thanks for your comments!

Very nice. I wonder if we can do a 17 min exposure with out haveing any amp glow problems and noise. Excellent shot.

I love this photo, the stars look awesome! The lighthouse is very sharp and I cant really find anything to complain about.

Wow nice photo. Was Orion added post production?
duncmc (Duncan McMillan) said 2 years ago:
Thanks againt to everyone for your comments.
@ caryscott – There was very little post production on this. Orion wasn’t visible when I took the picture because of the mist over the river, but the longe exposure alllowed the stars to burn through. Other than adjusting the white balance in RAW and using a second exposure layer to enhance detail in the underside of the bridge, this is as shot.
