love those eyes. this would work in portrait of a person too

op_perrin (Olivier Perrin) added a critique 24 days ago:

il a une bonne bouille, il fait craquer, une superbe lumiere. Mais je trouve que cela fait trop poser, et cela gache (pour moi) la photo

Love this portrait - what a cutey! The orb up and to the right is a bit distracting, otherwise great!!!

I really like how you worked the light in this photo, very interesting facial expression you've captured, great photo!

that face is classic!

juanantonio (J.A. Pellicer) added a critique 30 days ago:

Considero esta fotografía curiosa en el sentido que la mirada del sujeto principal pareciera como que se desentiende de la escena, observando al fotografo. Creo que se pueden ver tres acciones distintas (la chica explicando, el chico mirando y el fotografo captando),en la misma fotografia. Interesante. Saludos.

une belle idée, juste dommage que le garçon regarde trop le photographe, son regard irait vers le livre, cela aurait été top

well hi nathan!

I always fight the urge to put things dead center like this. Good lighting and background texture.

i like this... very calming!

warreagle (Amy Warr) added a critique 3 months ago:

It's making my eyes blur a little, try focusing more on the stalks in front?

koo88 added a critique 3 months ago:

I agree with warreagle, it is a little blurry. I like the idea though. Try from different angles.

CEG added a critique 3 months ago:

Nice idea, but I too think the DOF is distracting. Maybe if the largest out of focus stalk wasn't so centered.

very odd but i like the repitition!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 3 months ago:

I am picky about objects being just barely in or out of the frame. I would have either cropped more of the top or included the tip of the structure. For the length of the shadows and the low light angles this could have been more dramatic. Maybe some work in curves would pull out more impact.

lotr_n1 (Nathan Hauser) said 3 months ago:

-thanks beamer. I didn't even notice the top of the right tower being out of frame. I do like the people to the left, and the one guy in the very back center of the photo. thanks for the advice though....

CEG added a critique 3 months ago:

Nice shot. It seems the right tower may have another shot in it. Focussing on the reflection in another shot might be cool.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 3 months ago:

As Kalepsiash mentioned it is indeed very odd, as if you get dizzy by looking at it. Apart from this top, out of frame, a very nice picture.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 3 months ago:

Think more about your composition. Why this view - this angle? Could your comp have been stronger - how? What is the point of this particular crop? Are there distracting elements that take us out the subject? What is the point you are making with this photograph? Should you have shot it from a lower angle perhaps? Should there be more separation between the subject and the background? I could answer these questions for you, but as a young photographer, you should go through this process many, many times with each of your shots. This shot is okay, but could have been much better. I hope you don't mind me sharing in this way. I only desire to help.

Sincerely,
Jon

i like it... not sure what i like about it but i like it... maybe its the way the blue in the bike stands out against the dingy brick!

i dont really like how you can see the corner on the lower right side... distracting to me

but i like it!

the out of focus handlebar in the foreground bothers me but I like the colors and textures.
