This is one of the most beautiful photos that I have seen on this sight. Absolutley gorgeous. One of my favorites.

This IS quite nice, a couple of things:
the highlights are a bit blown out and I am not a fan of this type of vignette...
Fantastic light and mood. Good work!
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:
I wonder about the shading on the left and right. I would rather it either not be shaded or show the actual edge of the frame (assuming this is on film).
CodeRed (Cody Redmon) added a critique 1 year ago:
Contrary to 'grahambo', I like that you've burned it in along the borders - it adds further to the depth of the shot. I'm a stickler for blown out regions of shots like this, as it's typically a product of editing a shot in Photoshop, assuming this is digital. It would be nice to see healthy highlights in the clouds...but they're still great. There's an interesting balance to this photo, I like it very much.
Thanks for posting, lightholder!

the highlights are relly blown out but may be i's necessary for this kind of effect

hello lightholder,
First of all I wanna thank you for al your encouraging comments.. they mean a lot to me..I'm so happy that you like my pictures..
I don't post-process a lot.. just the usual stuff like levels, curves and the gradient tool..
When I take picture I'm always very aware of the light.. but photography for me is also about having luck, like "being in the right place at the right moment" so I always try to use my senses..
Have a nice day my friend,
M.L

I like this image a lot, it has a warm, moody atmosphere.. it seems to be an old picture, shot in the seventees :)
the composition is also very good, same for the light!!
the only thing is the vignetting..
vignet looks very good on this picture but I would of done it more subtile..
try to do it with the gradient tool:
*first you duplicate your layer
*then in the toolbox you click on the gradient tool
*on the top of your screen click on the fourth button counting from the left and make sure the gradient goes from foreground to transparant.
*then drag your cursor from the center of your picture to the top of your picture
*in the layer tool box on the right site set the layer in "soft light"
*you can always change the opacity from 100% to less if you think the effect is to much..
Hope this can help you..

This is absolutely stunning!!!!!! The soft focus makes it feel so surreal, like I'm dreaming this. This is absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you to everyone who commented. I am humbly surprised... I always loved this photo, but I didn't think anyone would agree with me. =)
I am also a little surprised that so many people feel the highlights are blown. I'm sure you're right, I just never noticed, and still don't fully understand. It however is a fabulous illustration to me of what I still need to learn. Can someone help me understand? Is it the fact that there are large areas in the clouds that don't retain any detail or is there something else I'm not uderstanding?
And thank you everyone for the input on the vignetting. I'm still exporing different ways to achieve these types of effects and the visions I have in my head don't always suit the photo, or even suit my skill level.
Thanks everyone.
