she looks sad. I think I'd play with the contrast level some. Bring out more of the detail of the stone.

the lights are very well, as expected as from a hdr-pic ;) i think those shadows of poeple and so are wanted... good pic!

I'm so flattered! It's actually not an HDR but I'm glad you like it... It's a regular old one-shot prolonged expore and it's SOOC.

the building really catches my eye, the green tint from the lights really makes it stand out! This is nice!

The dof is very shallow so it fits the topic perfectly! The light is lovely and sharpness is great too. However, i feel something is missing to make this photo really stand out. I'm not sure but maybe the subject should be closer to the lens?

but like pixistenz said, I feel that something is missing.. I think it's the composition, I would of taken the leafs more to the left but this is only a very small detail..

This picture gives a great sence of autumn..

Great pic everything is there, technically perfect
But that feeling of something missing, in my opinions come from the fact that there is 2 subject apart maybe the insertion of a third would have bring more power or just the green leave touching or even on top partially of the red one would have bring more communion.

The shallow dof is perfect and I do love shallow dof. I find the simplicity of this image wonderful. I think maybe that's what the others are missing...

I think a tighter crop would have helped this shot a little bit.

the birds are flying away... days get colder... winter is coming... this pic catches its sad mood very well!! well done!

this is nice but are you trying to test us,
At less 5 corrections visible to the eyes should be applied
there is 3 dot of water on your lenses
one just on the rigth of the 3 upper left bird
one on the 2 lower left bird, one in the lower bottom
1/3 left of the lower cloud, now 45 degree up the first water drop there a black dot not needed
and finally almost in the upper left center there is a bird with 2 white reflection on is feet.
After corrections sillouette aspect would be great.
Just like your work, so dont stop looking twice before sending it.
Great works from you, migth be just a sligth oversee.

Some minor corrections to be made - all in all a great shot!

Wow - bokeh galore! As a composition it's weighted a little heavily on the left side, I think. The colors are great and it is an interesting shot. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that the composition needs some kind of adjustment. I think the strand of lights is a bit too close to the edge of the frame for my tastes. Nice pic other than that though, good range of colors. Interesting to look at.

I have to agree with the above comments that all the elements are in place, except for a really smart crop.

if you want to make a perfect image, i have to agree a different crop would perhaps be better but honestly this is only detail i love this shot like it is very interesting and beautiful colors

Great subject with great potential but I think it's a little dark and for the topic the saturation of the red should be cranked up.

Thank you to everyone who commented. I am humbly surprised... I always loved this photo, but I didn't think anyone would agree with me. =)

I am also a little surprised that so many people feel the highlights are blown. I'm sure you're right, I just never noticed, and still don't fully understand. It however is a fabulous illustration to me of what I still need to learn. Can someone help me understand? Is it the fact that there are large areas in the clouds that don't retain any detail or is there something else I'm not uderstanding?

And thank you everyone for the input on the vignetting. I'm still exporing different ways to achieve these types of effects and the visions I have in my head don't always suit the photo, or even suit my skill level.
