I love the one door being ajar. The red awning at the top feels a little restrictive to the eye, sorta blocks my interest. That sounds weird, but that's my impression.
TerynYancey (Teryn Yancey) added a critique 1 year ago:
i realy like the picture. i like the textures... the chicken takes away from the doors.

Thanks to all of you. Its really interesting, I'm not sure how to proceed with this photo, if proceed at all. The differences in people's opinion (both here and on flickr) are FASCINATING! It makes me smile... :)
God bless people and their individuality!

Great image, the chicken adds life to the setting. Good job.

I would like to see this photo without the focal blur, but absolutely love the lighting, awesomely light
marcouet52 (Mario Arcouette) added a critique 1 year ago:
Superb focust on the center and background
emphazing the flower, detail on petal are interesting
with the play of shadows, dont have a critic would just like to know what lens you use so every one can benefit from your macro approach, Im not a fan of saturation as young like it now, but in this case it was perfect 5/5.

thanks for the comments ..
Marcouet, this is my panasonic lumex f50, it has leica lens 12x zoom and macro built in..

This is wonderful. The colouring has so much mood in it, and the detail on the man's fingers is making my skin crawl... makes me want to slather my hands in moisturiser.
...I wanted to avoid the obvious and not be girly, but I can't help it. That puppy is SOOOOOOOOO cute!!!!
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) said 1 year ago:
haha!!! I better not tell "the man" about his hands! LoL He's my boss!

Nice contrast of old and new between puppy and man's hands. I'll be girly...I want one...

This would make a beautiful finished product with some careful editting. I agree the bleached out sky deminishes from the end product.
klear added a critique 1 year ago:
I just love the colors. The sky doesn't bother me - I like the contrast.
lightholder (Kimberly Lightholder) added a critique 1 year ago:
The subject is beautiful and nice balance with the reflection. Perhaps if you pulled the contrast a bit, there would be more detail in the sky to bring out?
Again, lovely colours. You really have an eye for them.

Great work! So cute! A lovely spontaneous portrait. The shadow below her chin is unfortunate but not enough to mar it. The crop is a little tight from the top.

i like how she really pops out of the picture. well done

Very nice photo.
Leave the people. They give an excellent sense of scale.
I do think that the graffiti is a bit distracting and could easily be cloned out...
chefron (Ron Ernst) added a critique 1 year ago:
Loose the people and the graffiti
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:
Excellent photo as is. However, I also think it would be excellent without the people or the graffiti - just a bit more surreal. You could also shoot this with someone (as long as they are interesting looking themselves) in that first chamber after the first achway as long as they did not obscure the arches behind them. Again, it would simply be another version of a good idea. This setting has numerous possibilities IMHO. Your selection is just as good as any of them.

dreamer247, I agree with you...keep it real!
If you feel like you've captured the moment you were seeing and feeling when you took it, then you are rewarded! Whether or not the rest of us can feel what you have captured would only be icing on the cake. And it IS a GREAT picture!
I struggle with some of the comments (not the people making them!) made about your picture... while you're at it, clone out the large spot on the floor in the right corner, it's "distracting". Why not all the spots? and hey, I don't like those light fixtures... you get the point. When should a photo stop being what you saw and start being something to please the mainstream audience? But that's a whole other topic!
I think the people are great - they show scale. Now I can better interpret the space and how long that corridor is. To me the graffiti makes a statement about society - that certain people feel they can own anything - the feeling it evokes that people would mar such a beautiful space; to me it illustrates the dichotomy of beauty and blemish, and it wouldn't have, had you cloned it out. Besides, that's how it looks!
OK, I'll get off my soapbox now! GREAT work, and I love the tones.

this is really cool and i like how you composed the minimal trees with the snowy field. but i think it would be better with sky or another subject which i could catch...
TerynYancey (Teryn Yancey) added a critique 1 year ago:
beautiful. wouldnt change anything. i love how the trees stand out.
thoughtdujour (thought du jour) added a critique 1 year ago:
simple and beautiful. I would not change anything. I love how the snow has blanketed the land leaving no other character of the land, not the curvature of hills, the outcrop of rocks...just the trees.
wonderful.

Love the sunburst in that raindrop. Gorgeous!
the bridge is nice in this. However, I think the foreground detracts, especially the tree as it, at least to my eye, competes with the bridge too much.
