Out of the mountain pictures you uploaded, I think I like this one best. This reminds me just how many shades of grey there can be. ;)
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 22 days ago:
@Ambrosia: Thanks, I think I agree. This was shot digital and converted to B&W using Nik Software's Silver Efex Pro. Those plugin's do a really great job. I also have a roll of FP4+ I shot the same evening that I have not processed yet. I am anxious to see what the film looks like!!

@All: This is a good example of what you gain from 16bit raw conversions. The smoothness of the grad in the sky from left to right and the subtle difference of the tones in the light shafts would not be possible in an 8 bit workflow. I know the file size is huge, but well worth it, imo. I do all my raw conversions to 16 bit and I scan with my Nikon coolscan in 14 bit which gets output at 16 bit. I am in the process of adding more RAM to my pc and upgrading to 64bit Vista to deal with the heavier filesizes created from the new scanner and now the new Nikon d90 I just bought.

Very nice. Makes my eyes zig-zag back & forth down to the bottom.

This is stunning. Well done. I particularly love the texture on the wall behind. It makes the subjects skin look all the more flawless.

Love the texture and the noise!

I don't care about posting to different topics while there's some reasonable point in it. I like this picture even if the composition looks a bit unbalanced (a wall lamp in the upper left corner would help maybe). You managed to rise a handful of questions in the viewer. Nice job.

Wow. Great everything. Did you have to do a lot of post processing?
leetsil (Bernhard Plank) said 2 months ago:
@snaps, not much... just a bit with the "Levels tool" in photoshop

This is beautiful and I agree with Jon as usual bout the light and the feel. I wonder if the composition isn't a bit too wide and high. I wish there was a bit more of the bottom of the petals and maybe a little less top and left.

Love it! It is sharp where it supposed to be and soft where it supposed to be... and the colour is just amazing!!!!! As I am addicted to the flower photos this is definately going to my favourites :)

Very nice! I like this one a lot, except maybe next time you could keep the depth of feel a little less shallow so that a little more is in focus.
360Pixels (Ayash Basu) added a critique 4 months ago:
I like it a lot, perhaps add a few pixels to the bottom, other than that this is super.
