What I mean is, that the contrast on those lights seems a little too strong.

Just a cool pic to look at......it would look good in a black frame with white matting on a white wall.

thanks for all the nice comments :P
i remember doing hardly any editing (maybe contrast and of course b&w convert) so the lights are just how the photo naturally came out, i used a wicked long exposure so i think thats why they ended up looking so overexposed/ball shaped.
i really like night photography :) new topic? :P

Beautifull photo. Gives a real sense of motion. I like it a lot in B/W.

What is this wasted lower half of the frame? Should be cropped out... and what did you want to take picture of?

the glow of the lights on the pavement are what drew me to take out my camera. thanks for the critique :]
Jordan (Jordan Young) added a critique 9 months ago:
Since when is negative space considered "waste"? I think it helps the image quite a bit. It would be rather boring with just the lights and skyline. The pavement and reflections are what make it interesting to me.
Did you try some grayscale action on it though? Might look cool. It's a nice shot though I think.

I liked composition a lot. Colors are ok for a night shot. On a negative side, it looks a bit blurry.
greendot added a critique 9 months ago:
It's a bit blurry, but I like the lonely and dark feeling in this shot. And the colours are totally okay for a nightshot.

As someone who enjoys the challenge of photographing musical acts in dimly lit venues, I appreciate and applaud you on this capture...I like the relative stillness and clarity of the central musician with the music whirling in a blur around him.

why thank you :]

I like this. I think it has its strongest effect when scaled down to the thumbnail view.

This is strange. Unfortunately I can't tell you what to do better, as I don't even know what I see here. :)
To tell a bit more, I like the fact that there is a bit of space on the top. This gives it place to work. And now ... what exactly is it?
leaves (Giancarlo Rinna) said 10 months ago:
thanks for the feedback :)
fluorescent lights, i accidentally took the photo in the subway (i think) :P

Very interesting - I see it as something silver and highly polished, like the barrel of a gun or some type of machinery.
i like the texture. i think it´s better to crop the blur part at the top of the image.
