I too was reminded of a wartime London sky. Although I wonder if I had noticed the sky so much if it hadn't been included as a Skyscape image....
I do love the noise, it works so well, and pulls the whole thing together. Listen to me, I sound like I think I know what I'm talking about!

The sky does not look real to my eye, perhaps because of the noise. It seems to have a "painted" feel to it. There seems a dramatic contrast between the sharpness of the urban scen below and the grainness of the sky.

Above the traffic and pedestrians London often looks old and worn, like this sky - this gritty treatment evokes another era; across the road from Charing Cross Station, Lyons Corner House on the Strand, opened in 1912, was a place of many memories for people who endured the war - it's now a Pizza Express.

Thanks for the kind words, all.
@tony - Argh... Those last two words are pretty painful to hear, heh.

Just goes to show, even the oldest shots still have a chance to rise to the top! Nice shot!

Wow... that's a surprise. Thanks, all!

This is such a great shot. It honestly looks like it was shot 50 years ago. Great processing.
VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:
hehe... a feature of the feature system... shots you've forget are good surprises ;-)
congrats brandon :-)

I like this one a lot brandon! Think the grain is just perfect for this kind of photo. Great choice of coloring, too.

yepo - fantastic, just fantastic !!

Ater all this time... I don't really understand how it works, but it certainly gives hope. :O)

This reminds me of a sci-fi 1930's Utopia gone wrong! Quite an arresting image. The only thing I might say is the single cloud trail going up to the left seems slightly at odds with the rest of the image.

Yeah, a bit futuristic and retro, at the same time. Like Captain Sky and The World of Tomorrow. Great angle and scenery, good noise effect on the sky. Just a bit grainy than the buildings, some balance is ok.
Great image, indeed.

My first reaction to this image was that of war! The grittiness, the chaos in the sky, and the stone architecture just reminds me of old war time images of Europe.
