I also like that he's not looking directly at the camera. I wish both eyes were in focus, but everything else is great.

Great shot!

awwwesome.... I tend to turn my head to look at it though, maybe a more natural gravity obeying angle would make it even more trippy? I dig, nice concept.

Hi Ron, good to have you come by. These are fishing boats down in Dungeness. We were down there for a few days last year, great land/seascape and light.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been sitting outside the backdoor for a while watching the world go by. Thought I'd pop in after Odon had left a comment on this 'old' pic.

tuscanice (Jo) said 1 year ago:

Such an awesome perspective. The clouds give this a nice sureal feel. Excellent:)

tony (Tony Hall) said 1 year ago:

Hi Jo, thanks for that. The clouds were unusually dramatic that October day.

odon (Odon Dias) said 1 year ago:

Pushing the little boat away, a nomad or gipsy soul. And I'm singing road to nowhere, again. I wonder where all this will leads. Hope that not so far from the finish point.

tony (Tony Hall) said 1 year ago:

Hi Odon, maybe you wonder where you are ...
it's time to find something, but don't look too far.

This image is perfect! If I were painting, I would not change one hting. Beautiful.

thoughtdujour (thought du jour) said 1 year ago:

Lovely photo. As a Canadian, I've always heard that the praries are beautiful, but I'm stuck in Ontario. Gotta catch the train out there ones of these days!

NobodySpecial (Michael) said 1 year ago:

Dramatic and Stunning......it really gives the viewer the scale of isolation & quietness of the prairies.

The majestic cloud formations serve as a wonderful backdrop for the lonely church.

....an outstanding piece of work.

And a word to thoughtdujour?....as a Torontoian who just recently took a 52hr Bus trip (in order to photograph along the way) to Calgary, DO IT!........You won't regret the experience.
