It would be nice if there was some detail in the eyeball. The main subject just seems to get lost here. Maybe so work with curves could pull out the eye better. Maybe even with a matte on a second layer.

Wonderful colors. But i agree with beamer, the eye could do with more detail. It will look stunning that way :)

As usual thank you for the inputs. I actually did play around with the colors to enhance the eye better. Either the eye was lost( too dark) or the color of the fur became too light. I just couldn't seem to get an even balance. I will keep on practicing.

koo88,
You can do a select on just the eye, then do your adjustments to the local area.
I find the easiest way to do this is to use the wand to select as much as possible. Then switch to the Quick mask (shift+q) then erase the red from the areas that you want selected. Once you have the red where you need it, turn it back to a selection (shift+q) and then do your adjustment.
Hope this helps!

Mike,
Thanks for the advice. The only program that I have is Photoshop Elements. Can your suggestions be done using this program?

Other comments about the detail etc notwithstanding. I like the treatment that you have taken with this subject. I like that you have left the nose out of focus to draw me into the main part of the frame. I like it.

koo88,
That I am not sure about. I have never used Elements.
There is always the free GIMP that supports most of the same features as Photoshop!
