I know it's not the best, but you have no idea how long I have tried to capture lightning. It makes me confident to know that I can. I have all summer to keep trying to improve.
ErikUnger (Erik Unger) said 5 months ago:
Thats cool that you were able to capture it. I've wanted to get one of those amazing lighting pics for a while now, but have just never had the opportunity to try it out. How did you shoot this? it does look a little noisy but congrats on the cap none the less.
koo88 said 5 months ago:
It's more like a lot noisy. I just shot Continuously
about 300+ times. The next time I will time it better so not to take so many shots that were just black. Thanks and good luck.

The lights are out, but that didn't stop something magical from happening. All that was needed was a brief moment to cast a great shadow. Well done.

Another great lightning capture. Amazing and beautiful.

Thanks, lightning facinates me with it's unpredictable allure.
koo88 said 5 months ago:
I agree, it totally facinates me too. I have not been lucky enough to capture it. Do you think it is possible with a point and shoot?
anemix (John Anderson) said 5 months ago:
You need to be able to have shutter speed loger than 1 second, a tripod/sandbag, and most importantly, a safe place to shoot from (preferably a dry spot)- parking ramps are a good place to start. If you animate a radar site you can predict direction (sort of)but other than that it's like catching lightning in a bottle...
be prepared to take 1 or 2 hundred pictures in order to get a keeper. Even if the lighting is miles away, don't stand on a hill top holding an umbrella (sorry, had to say it)

This is very beautiful. The one boat really makes it perfect.
