There's so much energy in this shot. Great framing and colors.

The hair looks alive in this shot, Medusalike,

It can't be you, unless you've got a male pen name.

Very nice scene. It's like movie that has been pauzed and you want to see what is coming.

thanks for your comment, Jason !

Excellent! Unique perspective (How original can I get). I'm in favour of cropping the bottom.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) added a critique 1 year ago:

this one is cool.
I think, if the bottom wouldn't be there then the comments would be like " I wish the shadow could be complete" :-))
so as it is wwe know why the shadow is not complete :-)))

cheers

I think I understand Vernon's idea and I agree. But the game is to suggest a way to improve the picture... In the end, you do what you want with the suggestions.
:o)

tomcarter (Tom Carter) added a critique 1 year ago:

its great. the blurred foreground gives us distance. but its the shadow that really makes this image.

This should work really well, I love the concept, but...well, I don't know what's missing. Perhaps I'm wanting both the seedlings to be in focus, or something. Just can't put my finger on it.

kjaro (Kjaro Skuro) said 1 year ago:

I love this image very much! You managed to capture the tenderness and a fleeting moment of something so sweet and dear that you cannot breathe but it still slips away through your fingers...

Very well performed !

Oh my, Andrew is tough...I WISH I could shoot something like this so sharp! I love this. I have not visited the Duo topic for a long time so I missed this entirely.

taikrixel (thomas mueller) said 1 year ago:

@ prometheus, that's the original image and no other crop.

mrsankey (Andrew Sankey) added a critique 1 year ago:

This is a really nice shot, I love the composition and the lighting. Nice work!

kjaro (Kjaro Skuro) added a critique 1 year ago:

Although the picture is pleasing my eyes, my brain has nothing to work with. I think more idea would help this.

kamaki (Christophe) added a critique 1 year ago:

nice uncluttered composition.

willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:

This is a great photo that reflects the subjects personality and energy.

The whites do appear a bit blown out. However this is common in many auto-exposed digital images. Advice like "expose for the highlights and post-process for the shadows" is pointless for a spontaneous photo like this one. You captured the moment – which is the most important thing in this type of photo.

I also enjoyed the sort of disgusted look on the co-workers face in the background.

jeninja-inja (Jenine Lindeque) said 1 year ago:

willie - thank you so much for all the advice! really usefull! Yes the girl in the picture wasn't a pleasant person at all! hahaha

kjaro (Kjaro Skuro) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think something's wrong with the curves here. White is not white... Tweaking the curve might help or playing with shadows/highlights (Image->Adjustments).

cool thanks!

Love the light in this picture !

boughey (Adrian Boughey) said 1 year ago:

Nice image. Not sure I'd like to spend much time down there though. The phrase 'light at the end of the tunnel' came to mind when I saw this; I'd be running towards it as it doesn't look like the safest place in the world.

methan (András Németh) said 1 year ago:

thanks zenzi and adrian.

do you happen to know the french movie "irréversible"? i do, and that's why even to enter this otherwise harmless pedestrian tunnel is almost impossible for me.

kyla (Kyla) said 1 year ago:

love this shot. wonderful lighting.

kjaro (Kjaro Skuro) said 1 year ago:

yea, I've seen the movie "irreversible", and I agree with you. But what came to my mind first is the "Silent Hill: The Room" game.
You got great image, even in tough lighting situation.
