joan, thank you. I marvel at all of the good imagery of amusement parks structures submitted for this theme. But for me, without the people, the parks 'lack' amusement and are simply structures of light and mechanical pieces. For me this image conveys my interpretation of an amusement park.

beckn32 and Carl, thank you. Carl, I think this is a fun shot for many reasons including the ones you sight. Tracy and I were at the San Mateo Expo Center that day which is right next to Bay Meadows racetrack. She and I spent the entire day shooting the races and then went to the county fair to shoot there. (and eat two corn dogs each, but don't tell anyone! ;-))

So the girls in the photo were not the only ones enjoying their day. It's really hard to tell if the two in front of or behind the camera were having a better time. Thanks again.

What astounds me is the perfect focus and lack of any motion blur on what I assume was a fast moving target. You must have a wonderfully wide aperture on your lens to allow such a fast shutter speed.

Thanks to all for the very kind comments. I'm happy that I've been able to convey through this image the joy the two girls were having that moment on the Scrambler ride. My goal with most of my candid street shots is an attempt to convey what I think the person was feeling at the time.

I waited for their car to hit the apex of the outermost part of the arc of their car, just before it began to move in the opposite way. To grab a shot while they were moving at full speed would have been really difficult. I tried to stand where the light would be effective on their faces and took this shot.
