Nice capture!

The lines of the horizon and shore, along with the subject being slightly off centered really makes for a good composition.

well hi nathan!

I always fight the urge to put things dead center like this. Good lighting and background texture.

Beautiful moment! What a pity for the horizon, but it has an easy solution!

narnold (Noah Arnold) said 8 months ago:

Thanks for the comment Fernando, I actually just got some new editing software so this will be my first picture and get that horizon straightened out! Thanks!

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:

Nice shot, good colors, like the texture and the composition.

Best,
Jon

I like the real beauty...

ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 5 months ago:

That light is incredible. The only problem of course is the horizon, but sounds like you may have taken care of that by now.

i like this... very calming!

warreagle (Amy Warr) added a critique 6 months ago:

It's making my eyes blur a little, try focusing more on the stalks in front?

koo88 added a critique 6 months ago:

I agree with warreagle, it is a little blurry. I like the idea though. Try from different angles.

CEG added a critique 6 months ago:

Nice idea, but I too think the DOF is distracting. Maybe if the largest out of focus stalk wasn't so centered.

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 6 months ago:

i agree with kalepsiash, very calming shot

very odd but i like the repitition!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

I am picky about objects being just barely in or out of the frame. I would have either cropped more of the top or included the tip of the structure. For the length of the shadows and the low light angles this could have been more dramatic. Maybe some work in curves would pull out more impact.

lotr_n1 (Nathan Hauser) said 6 months ago:

-thanks beamer. I didn't even notice the top of the right tower being out of frame. I do like the people to the left, and the one guy in the very back center of the photo. thanks for the advice though....

CEG added a critique 6 months ago:

Nice shot. It seems the right tower may have another shot in it. Focussing on the reflection in another shot might be cool.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 6 months ago:

As Kalepsiash mentioned it is indeed very odd, as if you get dizzy by looking at it. Apart from this top, out of frame, a very nice picture.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:

Think more about your composition. Why this view - this angle? Could your comp have been stronger - how? What is the point of this particular crop? Are there distracting elements that take us out the subject? What is the point you are making with this photograph? Should you have shot it from a lower angle perhaps? Should there be more separation between the subject and the background? I could answer these questions for you, but as a young photographer, you should go through this process many, many times with each of your shots. This shot is okay, but could have been much better. I hope you don't mind me sharing in this way. I only desire to help.

Sincerely,
Jon

i like it... not sure what i like about it but i like it... maybe its the way the blue in the bike stands out against the dingy brick!

i dont really like how you can see the corner on the lower right side... distracting to me

but i like it!

where was this at peru?

the out of focus handlebar in the foreground bothers me but I like the colors and textures.

There is a Topic for Fog, this might work better there, looks more like a creek than a river. Very nice scene, well captured.

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 8 months ago:

Estoy de acuerdo con Clyde y creo que la toma resaltaría el río en cuestión si no apareciera la carretera (en la izquierda de la imagen) y el árbol que se encuentra en su borde.

Great angle and tones. You could've probably played around a bit with the DoF to wash out the background.

Yeah Attila, i too wish i had done that, maybe next time when i get a chance.
Thanks :)
