Jon, there is lots to like about this shot and agree with the comments above. I would like to add that I also like the selection of square format here to really lift the compostion to another level. Congratulations.

Excellent composition. I've always held the opinion that wildlife photos work best in color, but this one works in B/W as well.

A really nice capture. The black and white is a very good choice for this. I also like the angle of the shot. I have been trying to off center my shots more. Well done.
