This is promo work for an R&B band out of Rockford, Illinois. I was going for attitude and bad-ass, if you know what I mean. The female lead singer really didn't like me, so I tried to use some of that in the shot. They are an exceptional band, btw.
Best,
Jon

Nice one Jon, I like all but the lens flare, looks added on?? The capture is great, the expressions are all good. The girl is really givin' you the eye!! The plywood in the upper left corner is a bit distracting.
I bet these guys are fun to listen to.

I photoshopped the plywood out for the finished product - good eye, Clyde; it is distracting. The lens flare is added on - a Gimp effect - the band liked it - I presented it both ways. The girl singer had great attitude - I think she hated the whole session - the guys were really into it which helped. Why don't you photograph more live subjects - just curious.
Best,
Jon

Very cool shot.
I really like the toning here as it gives it an older feel which benefits the band, IMO.
Yeah she really is giving you the evil eye. Great way to use such things to your advantage!
I actually like the lens flair but i think that is a matter of personal preference!

to accentuate attitude try tightening the perspective a bit at the top to make them tower towards you in a dominating way. keep the black tears on the wall but beamer's right the plywood is a distraction.

I think this is a great group portrait of this Rock band. I like that it is in B&W/sepia, which gives it a nice classic back-to-the-seventies look. I don't know if that is what they play, but it oozes "Blood Sweat and Tears" and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Tiny thing is the reflection and its halo in the center.

Love the light from the case...makes it magical...it's all about the music!
