Yes, tell us more about it. It´s seems to be some religious or somtehing realted with animals and products. Good work!!!!!

Millions of people in the mainly Roman Catholic country of the Philippines celebrate Easter every year, with some penitents following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ even up to the point of being nailed to a cross.

Its a great shot, but i dont like the mirror in the back, or better, i don`t like the man in the mirror.

but the idea is good ;)

This is stunning. Well done. I particularly love the texture on the wall behind. It makes the subjects skin look all the more flawless.

Drkev (Cristian Vladoaica) added a critique 5 months ago:

damn!!
great composition!

Love the texture and the noise!

gazdi (Csaba Bobák) added a critique 2 months ago:

I don't care about posting to different topics while there's some reasonable point in it. I like this picture even if the composition looks a bit unbalanced (a wall lamp in the upper left corner would help maybe). You managed to rise a handful of questions in the viewer. Nice job.

I was waiting for this to be featured in panorama as well. Should have been the first. Excellent shot.

Nice one. Did he pose for you? Or are you the beneficiary of a great seat?

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:

I like this one, sorta surreal!! For an alternate, more abstract framing try cropping off the left and bottom so the lower left corner is just in the negative space beyond the red ball. I did the "scroll bar crop" and liked it there. See what you think??

anemix (John Anderson) added a critique 5 months ago:

this is a great capture. I'd probably run the contrast up a bit to make the strings disappear and then try going high key on the levels adjustment to see what that affected. This is a picture that could be diced into parts for interesting results. If it were possible I'd have shifted the composition a bit to the right to eliminate the ceiling light

Very magical and wonderful shot - thanks for sharing!

Best to you,

la position n'est pas des plus gracieuses mais quand on aime les genoux .....
Le grand espace noir a droite n'aide pas vraiment a construire la photo

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 5 months ago:

Nice Jon, great feel to this, her expression is great. I would nitpick the composition. I would cut the left edge very slightly to eliminate the bits of light peeking in to the left of the railing and I would have including some "toe room" at the bottom.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) said 5 months ago:

Still can't believe i chopped the bottom like that - duh! I shot it like that - no fixing it now, i'm afraid. Oh well! Thanks for the critique.

Best,
Jon

360Pixels (Ayash Basu) added a critique 4 months ago:

Just need a couple of inches at the bottom otherwise this is a great capture.

soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 4 months ago:

I think there is too much black in the upper right corner which could be cropped tighter adding some negative space under her feet.

Highlights on her dress are blown, but this intensifies the image in my eyes.

treehuggerish added a critique 5 months ago:

I have to second what Beamer writes. My eyes really, really, really wants to see the top of the stalk, and a bit of negative space around it. Otherwise a very impressive shot. Excellent drops, very nice colors induced with the stalk and its texture that is more coarse and organic compared to the slick surface of the eggplant itself.

Storywise there is really nothing to it, but as a sort of "design" shot or a shot where the style and shapes and colors are important it is allmost perfect, except for the missing top part :)

leetsil (Bernhard Plank) added a critique 5 months ago:

great minimalism ;)

Great job. I´d like to see more the vegetable, but in the other hand is different, so good joob. Sometimes this kind of photos are always the same. Great!!!

ErikUnger (Erik Unger) added a critique 5 months ago:

I like it the way it is. To me it just seems there would be too much negative space if it went any higher. Well, I suppose it could be just a little bit higher so that maybe the top frame stopped at the top or barely above the top of the stalk. Love the shadows and blacks. Came out very nice.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

You and your naked ladies. This is a nice graphic image with great flow and mood. One "small" comment. If you had not included the side of her breast the image would be much better imo. If you look at the right half, the flow and lines are clean and very graphic. The flow and lines of the left half are interrupted by the breast. I know it's sexy to include it, but for this image, better without. It also looks like you have a selection around her to either put her on this background or to separate for treatments. The mattes needs to be more accurate and then you would not get the bright line down the edge of the cloth and down her side on the left of frame.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

BTW, been away in Joshua Tree NP for a couple of days shooting. I will be posting some stuff later today. Keep an eye out!! I will be anxious to see your comments.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 6 months ago:

Thanks for comment Beamer :) I agree with the breast but whant to make image more sexy!

With pleasure will take a look on your new photos!

Neuner added a critique 6 months ago:

I really like this one. I don't think of it as sexy at all but with the black cloth it takes on a demon with wings appearance. With the orange/rust cast it makes it look like she is rising from the earth.

jorgelopez (Jorge López) added a critique 5 months ago:

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 9 months ago:

@Ana, thanks for you "complement". I call your comment a complement because you found the image to be accurate representation of what this part of the forest really looked like. It was a bright sunny day, but under the oak canopy it felt dark and cool and very inviting. The California Black Oaks have a very gray bark. So yes you are right, dark and gray trees!! Oh, BTW, did you see the bright areas of sunlight landing right on the red blooming camellias??

This was taken yesterday at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, CA. Spring comes early to Southern California.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 9 months ago:

@Jon, I tried a couple of different crops, but kept coming back to this, which is the "in-camera" faming. What do you think would work better??

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:

Clyde,

I would have let that beautifully lit tree on the right function as the right hand frame. I'm sure you considered that - just a friendly suggestion.

Best,
Jon
