great capture!

Great Picture. I like the long exposure.

Personally, I would have liked to be more centered on the waterfall, wider FOV, or different POV. The place where the bright white meets the edge of the frame draws energy out of the picture. Also, my eyes don't like to cross the dark expanse to the texture on the lower left.

Also, this picture would look better on a black background. I know you can't change that. :)

Thanks for your comments, folks. Grahambo, good observations. The image's intent was to draw you the width of the photo, across the dark area...from brightness to brightness. I have quite a few shots that are centered on the waterfall, but I wanted to do something different than just show a waterfall, which is pretty standard. This shot forces you down the river with the water. The reason I the shot isn't just a tad wider is because there's a viewing point with people on it just off the upper-right edge. Still, I understand and appreciate your insights. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice.
I like the comment of you trying to do something different than your "standard" waterfall shot.
IMO, you nailed it with this!

I agree. I wouldn't have wanted it centered as is suggested. You pulled off leading the viewers eye over the waterfall and down the stream. It gives a sense of water flowing unlike typical blurred water effects. Very nicely done.

Excellent TV time value exposure, like the milky ways of the fall, personnaly would like it in color to see the contrast against the gorge.
even if there is an overall darkness around the fall (you where rigth) it help to emphase it, Great

Different is good. The tones are amazing in that waterfall. I find this image extraordinary.

I've been out of town and came back to some great comments, many thanks to you all. Beamer, this is Upper Mesa Falls outside of Island Park, Idaho. Not sure where you live, but definitely check it out if you're ever in those parts. There is also the very stunning Lower Mesa Falls just down the road. Actually, the whole scenic byway they're located on is fantastic...let me know if you want a .kmz file for Google Earth. :-)

Again, thanks for the input everyone.

While you did a great job with the long exposure, I have to agree with grahambo.
