Excellent ! Shot by chance, or did you wait a long time to obtain this ?
jaska (Jari Hakala) said 1 year ago:
Thanks MMeye. I was observing the billboard and just waited the right person to appear.

I look at a picture like this and assume the effects of sharpening are intentional and that they add to (in fact they "create") the wonderful atmosphere of this picture.
I do agree that the clipping to the left is a shame though I suspect that was done in camera by mistake. One way to correct that could be to crop tighter all around so that the it does not appear off balance.
LadyWings (Kara Brothers) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the tones, but I agree it's over sharpened. The trees in the horizon look almost like cut outs.
shiningpig added a critique 1 year ago:
Oh but the colors are delicious. It makes me want to be there.
andygibb (Andy Gibb) added a critique 1 year ago:
beautiful image, but yes possibly over sharpened but i think you get away with it...lovely pastel shades
Lindy (Lindy G) added a critique 1 year ago:
love the color of this .. I agree with above comments ..that besides the oversharping ..it is really nice!

This is so lovely. But how ... what did you do for that shot. Laying on the floor, on your back? Thanks for all what you have done for it, it brightens my day (or better night).
jaska (Jari Hakala) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for your comment, Blumie. This was taken with a compact camera, that has a swiveling display. I can aim the camera upwards, but look at the display from the top.
Its-Only-Lines (Kevin Button) said 1 year ago:
Hi Jari,
The swivel display is the reason I shoot with a compact (Canon A95).
Who needs all that DSLR equipment when you get pictures like this without having to have the suppleness of a yoga teacher.
Congrats on the feature.

What you've done to this is fabulous! It gives it the feel of a very old oil painting. Excellent job!

Amazing job. To quote above, it's like an old postcard.
It'd be neat to see the original before you processed it for comparison.

Taken through a window?
jaska (Jari Hakala) said 1 year ago:
Not taken through a window, joka. I used a prism filter in front of the lens.

Which magnificent light very beautiful composition, great!
psychodudu (Andrew Parker) added a critique 1 year ago:
Sorry to be the only one to disagree (my usual role). This is all lovely jubbly, fantastic shards of light, and mucho atmosphere. However, the theme is Water Works, and the water is the *last* thing you notice in the shot! It's almost unidentifiable, it's so flat and strangely lit. Great shot, Jason (one of many), but not for this theme imho.
taikrixel (thomas mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:
wow, a very beautiful image and the lights are so awesome. perfect!

I love that point of vue, like a little forest from the sky, but for me there is nothing sharp enough to catch the eye.
SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) said 1 year ago:
Hi everyone!
Thanks for your comments and critiques!
This was meant mostly as an abstraction, hence the lack of a real focal point. This is a photo of moss with water drops resting on it from the morning dew. I think also in the original version it was a bit sharper, but the resized web version lacked this clarity...
jaska (Jari Hakala) added a critique 1 year ago:
Nice pattern. I would have cropped much tighter. Concentrate on the large droplets and cut edges off.
Helene (Hélène Douchet) added a critique 1 year ago:
Amazing point of vue. Hard to know if it's taken from the sky (forest) or if it's grass or something smaller.
caryscott (Cary Scott) added a critique 1 year ago:
Wow, that's moss? I actually looked at this for a while and figured it must be a small shrub. I had no idea that moss looked like this up close. Good job and I think the crop is fine. I don't think the water drops are as interesting as how it seems like you're looking down on a forest. Good job.

This seems to be a HDR-image. The processing however is too exaggerated.
schupin (Sylvain chupin) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with Greg and Jari, the processing is really to much, I would have seen the based picture
cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree too. To much processing.
birba (Roberto Pagani) said 1 year ago:
Hi, many thanks to everybody for the critiques. I would like to underline one thing: I'm absolutely aware that this image is deeply processed; I have looked for that effect and I got it. Some time I like to experiment, some time a bit, some time much. Some time the result of an experiment sounds good, some time not. I posted this work because it sounds good for me. I'm waiting for much more opinion. Many thanks again to everybody.
