Interesting high key image.
I am not a real fan of high key so this is not to my taste.
Very interesting way of fading the image out so that the eyes are still seen.
IMO there should be just a bit more detail to make this pop out a little more.

prometheus (Thomas) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it as it is fading the face. But the glasses under the nose ar a little bit disturbing and it's too agitated for me

Blizzard (Beef Jerky) added a critique 1 year ago:

Please forgive me for what I'm about to say.

When I first saw the thumbnail, it looked like you were picking your nose. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for picking noses. I pick mine quite often, but I'm not sure if that was how you wanted this photo to come acrossed. Now, I think this is a great idea. I would suggest that maybe you should place the eye glass arm on your bottom lip or chin. I do really like the illustration style in this shot, though. It looks like something I would draw.

I hope I didn't sound mean. That wasn't my intent.

i love the eyes. green eyes? they are beautiful

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the high key portrayal here because the eyes are emphasized. Even though much is missing, all the essentials are still here, giving me a good idea what you look like and presenting a personality too. Like others, I am bothered a bit by the glasses...but not terribly. Over all, this is well done IMHO.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

I feel I must agree with Thelma. I would much prefer the eyeglass arm to be on your chin. My first "thought" when seeing this photo was of a pipe actually placed under your nose...and I wondered why..until I focused and realized it was glasses.

I would suggest, if I may, that you enhance both the nose and mouth...aim the glasses arm at the chin or lips..and add just a tad of color on the left side of the photo to define the outline of your face there as well.

I love the concept and idea here...I think this has very much potential. A slight bit of work and I would love to see this featured!

Nice work.

I really like this shot except for the glasses arm being pressed under the nose. That is distracting and takes away from the face.

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:

First of all thank you very much to everyone. Well, I assumed that eyeglass arm definitely bother in this position. This proves how useful is the "critique" section.

Sher, it's searched to not have any sort of element able to define the outline of my face on the left side of the photo. This because I like that the observer imagine the border exactly there where it is. Thank you so much of your appreciation.

Toni, thank you about my eyes' colour appreciation :-)

Judging by the comments I'd say you've created a very intriguing image. I'm not used to seeing such bright lighting in a photo either but I can see where you're going with it, great idea!

annabc (Anna Cameron) added a critique 1 year ago:

I am a great fan of high key images and I find this portrait very interesting. I do agree with the previous comments about the arm of the glasses - I to took a moment to work out what it actually was when I first clicked on the thumbnail.
Rather than moving it, I think I would take it away altogether and leave the shirt collar and its shadows to add the little definition necessary under the chin.

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:

Thank you very much Alex and Anna. Not loving to insert same image on Vazaar, THIS is the link of same image where I tried to erase off the eyeglass arm.

Lindy (Lindy G) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this ..I like the style and the way the eyes stand out. I like the creativeness of this.. and agreed also with the statements above .. it took me a minute to know what it was but then again things like that can be fun and intriguing in a shot too, overall it is creative and imaginative ..something I love to see!

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:

Thank you Lindy. You're flattering me :-) -- Anyway words like yours really helps and encourages. Thank you very much !

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) added a critique 1 year ago:

Way too bright for my taste! There's too little details in it.

ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:

jenriks, follow a definition of "High way": ""High key subjects concentrate on the lighter tones, using subject matter that is white or pale tones, and using flat overall lighting to avoid shadows"" (photography.about.com/library/glossary/bldef_highk...)
