Cool! I like the contrast between the green, blue and black. It's also a really great composition, with those lines in the grass. The gardon-long does break the scene on a good way.
Furthermore I have no idea what they are doing, I guess it's baseball or American football or something? Are they signing with their hands?

This is the beginning of a Major League Baseball game and the ground keepers are listening to the United States National Anthem. Thanks for commenting!

For a moment, when I didn't see the topic yet, I was confused about how you did this. Nice idea!
Only thing is, the girl (your daughter, I presume?) isn't in focus. Maybe it's an idea to use this for a selective-saturation project?
hampshire said 11 hours ago:
Hey Tamara! Thanks for liking the idea...I kind of hate my point and shoot because of the focus issue...but I don't have the time in my life to really get into the SLR photography. But I can't wait and I live through photographers like you!

This is an awesome shot Great color and composition.
I was just wondering the setup and settings of the shot. I would like to learn how you got those great sun rays in the sky. Did you use a graduated filter?
HuubL said 5 days ago:
Thanks Lucus,
I didn't use anything special. In fact this was shot with a friend's point & shoot camera. I didn't bring my DSLR. Just to show that you don't need pro tools to get a nice picture.
The sun rays were there as you see them.
Regards,
Huub

Wow, great shot and I'm not the only one who thinks so... This reminds me of Momo's staircase at the entrance of the Vatican museum.

Love the golden tones...by the way, so artistically decorated.

love the angles and shapes - the tone of the colours softens the sharp angles making the scene more inviting.

Love the color and pose of your subject - great expression! I wish there was just a little more separation between your subject and other elements in the background. Very nice work in my opinion.
Best to you,
Jon

I like her...she is an interesting character. I am curious...did she know you were taking her picture either before or after.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 2 months ago:
I agree with Jon, and i would have painted out the bright white bit near the left of frame. A square crop really might focus interest/impact better here, try it, not sure?

Fine pose!
JBridges (Jim Bridges) added a critique 16 days ago:
She is definitely an interesting subject and I absolutely LOVE the colour here. But I agree with Beamer about a slightly different crop (either just enough to take out the lighter patch on the right wall or, as he suggested, square might work). But it's a really captivating photo.
:-D
I would rather have placed it in "Funny"...
Good idea !
