Thanks, Clyde. The Tights crop on the right is intentional, I wanted to show he's looking out of frame leaving his past months and starting a new part of his life.
Merci, Olivier. Je suis heureux de lire votre bonne critique. Une remarque : ce _n'est_ pas un portrait. (And I hope babelfish did a good work. ;))

Very nicely done!
Very compelling to me.

Interesting subject and very strong execution - the lighting and exposure help here becuase both are excellent. Well done.

I think what is particularly interesting is the story in this shot. I'm curious about the situation. Nice shot.

gazdi (Csaba Bobák) said 2 months ago:

Thank you for all the nice comments.
Dana: the original story tells that during WW2 an archbishop and some of his best men used this cellar of a vicarage as refuge for several weeks. This shot shows the moment when one of the priests leave the cellar after the dangerous weeks. No celebration, a cloudy vision of the immediate future, some of his faith may be left behind but he returns to his flock with a pure, open and and willing mind.

I like the tones and the perspective with this shot. I perhaps would have liked a person looking or something else to engage my eye a little more.

Beautiful light and composition here. I love the contrast (which one sees in an urban envirionment every day)of the man in the business suit and the man in the sweat suit walking side-by-side! Well seen, Csaba.

Best,
jon

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 8 months ago:

Lovely contrasts. Both in the image and as Jon mentioned, in the characters.

Agreed, details and dof great. I also like the colour and the use of light to make the little hairy bits pop. Nicely seen and captured.

With her as your model, you can't really screw up a portrait. Wow, she's amazing!

I agree with the other raters about making her stand out more. Since the light behind her was on when you took the picture, a little treatment in photoshop could accomplish nearly the same thing. Maybe just a slight vignette to bring the focus more to her.

I like the lower angle idea too. If you got the camera down at the table's height, you could accomplish a much more dramatic portrait and see her beautiful face even better.

gazdi (Csaba Bobák) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all for the comments.
I'll do what I can about lighting first in PS, then on-site. Lower angle was not possible here because of an ugly window in the backgound but it shouldn't be hard to find a more appropriate spot.
Couldn't agree more with the "still missing just a bit to make it really great" part of Jason's comment, and not only for this but most of my published shots.
So, thank you all again.

Sztem sokat dobna a kép minőségén, ha a leány telefonszáma is rajta lenne...

Amúgy a dákótartáson kívül mit lehetne mondani erre a képre, ami kritika? Az én laikus szememmel semmit... Max azt, hogy grat!

gazdi (Csaba Bobák) said 1 year ago:

Köszi. :)

The crops is a little tight and it appears a little tilted - great shot.

Cheers,
Jon
